Experience South Korea at its best

9 nights from £3,490 per person based on 2 sharing

South Korea is one of those destinations that keeps things interesting from start to finish, without ever feeling rushed or overwhelming. This small group tour, led by an Insider guide, brings together the country’s standout highlights in a way that feels well-paced and easy to enjoy. You’ll start in Seoul, where tradition and modern life sit comfortably side by side, before heading out to explore a different side of the country – from the lakes and slower pace of Chuncheon to the coastal character of Busan and the historic depth of Gyeongju.
  • Your trip begins in Seoul, where old and new sit side by side in harmony. One moment you’re walking past traditional hanok houses in Insadong, the next you’re surrounded by bold architecture and late-night energy in areas like Hongdae. Food plays a big part here, too, from casual market stops at places like Gwangjang Market to small local restaurants where dishes like bibimbap and Korean BBQ are done properly.

  • Next, you’ll step away from the capital with a day trip to Chuncheon, where things slow down noticeably. Surrounded by lakes and wooded hills, it’s a chance to see a different side of the country. Chuncheon is known for dakgalbi, a spicy chicken dish cooked at your table, and it’s as much about the experience as the food itself – informal, interactive, and shared.

  • From here, you’ll head south to Busan, where the coastal setting brings a completely different feel. Haeundae Beach gives the city a relaxed edge, while Jagalchi Fish Market offers something a bit livelier, with rows of fresh seafood and local vendors preparing dishes on the spot. There’s a balance here between laid-back seaside moments and the buzz of a working port city, making it a refreshing contrast to Seoul.

  • Your stays throughout this journey are chosen to reflect each stop rather than feeling interchangeable. In Seoul, NineTree by Parnas in Insadong puts you right in the heart of one of the city’s most characterful areas. In Busan, L7 Haeundae leans into its beachside location, offering a more contemporary, easy-going feel. In Gyeongju, a stay in a traditional hanok brings something different entirely, with features like ondol heated floors and a quieter, more minimal style.
