The voyage begins around Santa Cruz, one of the most important inhabited islands in the archipelago. Inland, you’ll visit the highlands where giant tortoises roam freely among volcanic terrain and native vegetation. Along the coast, places like Black Turtle Cove reveal calm waters where rays, reef sharks, and turtles glide beneath the surface, often spotted directly from the Zodiac.

Next, the route takes you north to Genovesa Island, known for its dense seabird populations. Walking along Prince Philip’s Steps and Darwin Bay places you among red-footed and Nazca boobies, frigatebirds, and storm petrels, often just a few feet away. The setting feels remote and exposed, with cliffs and open ocean defining the experience, while snorkelling here brings chances to see tropical fish and playful sea lions in clear waters.

Later in your itinerary, Bartolomé Island delivers one of the Galápagos’ most recognisable landscapes. A steady climb up the boardwalk rewards you with wide views over Pinnacle Rock and the surrounding bays, shaped entirely by volcanic forces. This is also one of the best spots for spotting Galápagos penguins, either from the shore or while snorkelling, where lava formations continue beneath the waterline.
