Step off the plane at King George Island and you’re straight into the action. Within hours, you’ll be climbing into a Zodiac and skimming across icy waters to shore. Around you, seabirds swoop low, and research bases come into view. It’s the start of something completely different, and the moment you realise you’ve really arrived in Antarctica.

Sailing into the Antarctic Sound, often called ‘Iceberg Alley’, you’ll be surrounded by huge, flat icebergs drifting slowly past. Along the shores, Adélie and gentoo penguins keep busy in their noisy colonies, while orcas sometimes cruise the same waters. Out in the Zodiacs, you’ll get close enough to hear the quiet crackle of melting ice, a reminder of just how ancient these landscapes are.

On days three and four, you’ll head ashore at spots along the Antarctic Peninsula such as Neko Harbour or Paradise Bay. Wildlife is everywhere: humpback whales surfacing quietly nearby, leopard seals lounging on ice, and penguins shuffling close as if to say hello.

After a day out on the ice, coming back to Silver Endeavour feels like a welcome pause. Rooms all have verandas, perfect for watching the scenery drift by, with butler service to make things easy. Evenings are laid-back, with champagne in the Observation Lounge, fresh seafood at dinner, or a recap that often turns into a story-swapping session.
