Have booked flight only to Adelaide for the last few years. Sandra is always extremely helpful, patient and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure you have all the information required to make an informed choice. As an older, single traveller requiring airport assisstance, such personal service is much appreciated for such a long journey.

Sandra was patient with us and worked comprehensively to plan our trip the way we wanted it. It ended yo costing us more but we're confident that the changes we made are worth it. Sandra understood our needs and made sure all our concerns were satisfied. It helps that there is 24/7 UK backup for contact whilst we're away as well as in-country contacts.

Oceania Cruises Although a relatively small fleet of 6 cruise ships; Oceania cruises are one of the premium cruise operators, providing a first class service in a boutique environment. Smaller ships mean closer and greater access to a wide range of ports on a global basis. I have been fortunate to enjoy a full tour of one of the fleets, smaller vessels; Nautica. Carrying a maximum of 684 guests in 342 cabins. Her current classic style is about to embark on a complete refurbishment, as the whole fleet is about to embark on a complete revitilisng programme, which will take...

Independence of the Seas is one of Royal Caribbeans Freedom Class Ships, providing a wealth of entertainment. We embarked in Southampton for a 'mini cruise' for just three nights, visiting Rotterdam and Bruges. Our girls were amazed at the size of the ship and even more amazed when they saw what was on board. We opted for an outside cabin on this occasion as we knew we would be out and about most of the time. The girls were a bit taken a back when they arrived to just a double bed, however they thought our cabin attendant was amazing to...

Getting married? Huge congratulations, Now the fun can really start, or stress some people might say! Weddings can be challenging to plan. From picking the perfect venue, more importantly the perfect dress! to what to say in the speeches and the some say the hardest part, the seating plan. Traditionally, the happy couple would ask their families and friends to buy them items for their new home, however in modern times, most couples already have plenty of pots, pans, towels, a toaster and maybe even a nutria-bullet! Instead, why not let your wedding guests contribute towards an unforgettable honeymoon!...

Our first stop to Singapore was in the city. We stayed at the Fairmont next door to Raffles. I would highly recommend one of the harbour view rooms. The balconies give you a super view around the bay including the Singapore Flyer (similar to the London Eye), Bay of Gardens with their continuous changing colour lights in the evening, the infamous Marina Bay Hotel and the harbour. It is approximately a 10-minute walk to the harbour and 10/15-minute walk to Clarke Quay. However, you may prefer to take public transport due to the heat/humidity. There is a choice of restaurants...

Having been to Borneo and seen the delights of the North Western part of Malaysian Borneo, I decided to make a family trip of it and visit the North Eastern part with my family. May is one of the drier months in this area, although it was a bit humid! it is a Malaria free zone, however be prepared for Mosquito bites! Taking the girls was fine as we didn’t need any special vaccinations, we just made sure our normal Tetanus etc was up to date. This proved to be a special treat for my girls who really love their...

Following its recent refurbishment, I was fortunate to visit the Silver Cloud cruise ship, while she was moored up alongside HMS Belfast in the River Thames. The Ship This unique expedition ship has been refurbished to provide a luxury cruise which has the ability to visit some amazing and exclusive destinations. The ship accommodates a maximum of 254 guests, (less on expedition trips) and 223 crew. With only seven decks and 150 cabins, it feels more like a luxury yacht by today’s standards. Accommodation 80% of the suites have balconies, providing you a personal opportunity to watch whales, penguins and icebergs! There is a...

I recently had the privilege to fly with some of my colleagues to Malaysia, visiting both Kuala Lumpur and Borneo. I flew from Manchester via Istanbul with Turkish Airlines. The airline has won many awards in recent years and rightly so. This is the second time I have flown with them. The planes are very modern, with a huge selection of personal entertainment on board, attentive service and good food, and that is in economy. There is a ‘flying chef’ on board to cater for business class passengers! They are providing very good fare options to some great long-haul destinations,...

As a birthday surprise, this proved to be one of the best. Phil thought we were sloping off to Bath for a couple of nights relaxing spa break. The fact that he is such a bad passenger and will always fall asleep in the car, made it relatively easy for me, so it was no surprise to wake him up at Gatwick. He obviously figured at this point that we weren't going to Bath, but didn't actually realise where he was going until we got to the departure gate! We stayed at the Vdara hotel which is absolutely fabulous...

Having skied regularly in the past, we were naturally very excited to be getting back on the slopes. Taking our 8-year-old girls for the first time would obviously be a little different from previous ski holidays. A bit of careful planning and pre-organisation (and prayers for good snow), meant we had a fantastic time and the girls loved it too! The Village We decided on the resort of La Tania. This is quite a small resort in comparison to most, however it is quite high being part of the three Valley's giving us access to Courchevelle, Meribelle, and Val Thorens! The centre...

Florida is such an amazing place, with so many theme parks and things to do, there is literally something for everyone! We had 10 days altogether and decided to focus just on Disney this time. Our girls (aged 8) have been to Disneyland Paris a couple of times, so they had a good idea of what to expect. Although being typically American, the size of the parks is completely on another scale! Not to mention the logistics of getting between them. This is the first time we have just focused on one set of parks, which enabled us to use...

Istanbul is a unique city, the only one in the world to cover two continents; Asia & Europe. The 'Old City' sits on the west side of the Golden Horn (Tributary River into the Bosphorus) . It has an array of Byzantine ruins, splendid palaces, ancient mosques, churches and exotic bazaars. Modern Istanbul is full of trendy bars and nightclubs, western boutiques, office blocks and elegant suburbs. There are numerous places to visit; including The Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, The Grand Bazaar and Hagia Sophia, to name but a a few! The latter, once regarded as the biggest example of Byzantine buildings,...

With direct flights from LGW or indirect flights via Miami, Turks and Caicos is really easy to get too, and what’s more, the Beaches resort is only a short 15 minute transfer from the airport! This resort is a fantastic family resort. Before we arrived I must admit to being a little sceptical as it is an exceptionally big resort, which is not something I would normally choose. However, the way the resort is laid out in different villages, makes it feel more intimate, but with access to a huge array of facilities. Although it is a family...

The State of Grenada actually consists of 3 Islands; Grenada, and the smaller islands of Carriacou & Petite Martinique. It is known as the Spice Island; primarily as it is the main producer of Nutmeg. The people are as friendly and colourful as the island itself. With only 28 miles between North and South on Grenada, (133 square miles) it is one of the smaller islands in the Caribbean and technically sits below the hurricane belt! We saw 14 establishments during our visit, with a fantastic array of accommodation options. There are excellent family options including...

I have had quite a few happy customers return from holidays to Malta, but this is the first time I have actually had the opportunity to visit the island personally, and what a pleasant surprise it was. With a flight of just under three hours, it certainly was a treat leaving behind our long cold winter, and arriving to glorious blue skies and sunshine! Although Malta doesn’t have lots of sandy beaches that you would normally expect from islands in the Mediterranean; it is not totally void of the soft sand that we expect to encounter on our holidays. There is...

For such a relatively small island (approximately 21 miles long and 2 miles wide at the widest point), Bermuda is quite a unique destination which has a lot to offer for everyone. This is just a quick summary of my trip. We were very fortunate to spend five days visiting some of the attractions on the island as well as having a good look around twelve different hotels. Renowned for its ‘pink sand’ beaches, there really are some spectacular bays for chilling out. One of which is Horseshoe Bay, in Conde Naste’s top ten beaches of the world! Soft sand for bare...

Gran Canaria is a fantastic holiday destination and has something to offer everyone. It has a perfect climate for winter breaks as well as for summer holidays. There are many hotel options from spa hotels, to 5* hotels with the wow factor and intimate boutique properties. This is the ideal place for a mini break and, with golf and spa facilities, it will keep everybody happy! Las Palmas, the capital, has a beautiful beach with a man-made lagoon for swimming and a separate area for water sports. The Old Town with its typical Spanish buildings, is well worth a visit....

This is a beautiful little resort, built around a relatively small harbour featuring magnificent sea views and a stunning mountain back drop. There is an excellent choice of small boutique style hotels, some of which are for adults only. There are also some superb villa options, with all mod cons and with plenty of rooms to cater for large families or groups of friends, particularly in some of the neighbouring villas. If you prefer the more traditional Turkish Villa; then exclusive mountain retreats with private pools and stunning views are also an option. Excellent spa facilities in some of the hotels, really...

I visited Israel in December with the Israeli Tourist Board, which gave me an excellent opportunity to see the best of what this little gem of a country has to offer. A four and a half hour flight to Tel Aviv gives you the option of a fantastic city break, in either Tel Aviv or Jerusalem offering a journey back in time visiting the likes of Masada, Acre and Caesarea. You could even marvel at some of the natural delights of the Dead Sea and the Ramon Makhtesh (Crater). Roughly about the size of Wales, it only takes around six hours to...

I visited Disneyland Paris on a 3 night break, with a group of Agents at the start of the new Generation Festival. This incorporates a lot of the new characters from Toy Story, Monsters Inc and the Incredibles. Characters can be seen generally around the park for photo opportunities, in the shows and in the park rides. We travelled by Coach, which I must admit I was a bit sceptical about at first, however, with a local pick up point and a nice break on the Ferry to have a wander, do some shopping, have some lunch, and let...

Most people tend to think of Cape Town when you say you are going to South Africa. Johannesburg, I guess due to its history and by what we read in the press, is a place that people tend to stay away from or fly through! We had a very relaxing start to our trip in the Virgin lounge at Heathrow followed by a very comfortable flight on Virgin Upper Class service, with complete flat beds! A fantastic way to start for a very busy week! This was my first time to South Africa and I was very fortunate to spend 2 nights...

I have been to Hong Kong twice now and still find it really impressive. The relocation of the airport has allowed the development of the customary skyscraper on Kowloon, previously limited as the flight path prevailed. Hong Kong Island is still impressive with its densely occupied steel towers. So whether you are staying in the midst of this on Hong Kong Island looking across the harbour or staying on Kowloon looking back to the island, its worth paying that little bit extra for the view! Our flight was with Air New Zealand on their Flatbed service, which was absolutely amazing....

We were extremely fortunate to be invited to spend Christmas and New Year in Sri Lanka, with friends and their family who had gone back home to retire. Colombo itself is a hive of activity, even at four in the morning when we arrived. It seems however that this is when a lot of people go to work, so they can avoid the real heat later in the day. Staying with locals, gave us the opportunity to see what life is really like. But they also made sure we saw some of the best bits of the Island with our...

Dubai is an amazing place for its sheer opulence and drive. Who would ever have thought you could go snow skiing in the Desert. Nothing seems impossible here! We stayed at the Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa, located right on Jumeirah Beach, it has huge open gardens with golf buggies running you back and forward to the beach, if you feel the walk is too long! With 3 swimming pools, an excellent spa, kids club and excellent choice of restaurants on site, it really does cater for your every need. I would definitely recommend the ‘Fish Market’, where you can...

Ever since I was young I had this dream to stand on the Great Wall of China. Well I finally got the chance and what made it even more special was the fact that my parents went with us, which was absolutely fantastic. For them it was beyond a dream! This is truly a cultural experience, with very little influence from the West; (apart from the odd Macdonalds unfortunately!). China is a vast country, and with so much to see. Having done some research and realising that it is not so straight forward getting around we decided to go...

Tenerife We went to Tenerife for a Vitamin D fix and to catch up with some of Phil’s old colleagues working at the Sheraton La Caleta in Costa Adeje. I had not been tempted by Tenerife previously as I thought it was geared too much towards the tourists. Whilst Playa de las Americas does tend to cater for the tourist (difficult to find a traditional Spanish Tapas Restaurant) I was pleasantly surprised by the parts of the island that we visited and what it has to offer. Costa Adeje is a lovely area, which is quite close to the hustle...

Crete The biggest of the Greek Islands, Crete has two airports, Chania in the South West and Hersonisos in the North. We actually stayed in Elounda during what was probably the last week of the season for most of the hotels. Flying into Hersonissos we took a private taxi to the Blue Palace Resort and Spa. This is a beautiful hotel on the outskirts of Elounda Bay, with a tiny village with a handful of houses and a couple of fish restaurants nearby, it is a short taxi ride or 20 minute walk to the main part of Elounda Bay...
