The best family holiday

The Dominican Republic has got us buzzing! We travelled as a family in June, although I had never fancied Dominican before and it was a last-minute decision. Wow, we loved everything and booking to go back in 2018. The flight wasn’t overly long for 2 small children, the transfer in the resort to Punta Cana was 30 minutes so again great. The hotel was situated on the most beautiful beach with powder white sand and swaying palm trees. We were totally spoilt for choice by the A La Carte options to eat, slushies all day by the pool for the children, waiter service to my sun lounger and no rushing to get a sunbed at the crack of dawn as plenty for all guests at the hotel. Gorgeous fresh pizzas and giros in the afternoon washed down with a few cocktails and endless hot sunshine. The kids loved the hotel’s resident flamingos, turtles and lizards. They didn’t use the kids club as they were quite happy jumping in and out of the pool making friends, building sand castles, using the sea trampoline and enjoying the beach foam parties. This holiday was everything we needed as a family and so much more, the value for money is outstanding and having travelled back to Portugal in July there is just no comparison if you can handle the longer flight
