In 2023, I was lucky enough to win a sales incentive that took me on the brand new Explora 1 ship on what was only her second week at sea! This all-balcony suite ship has a large capacity but limits passenger numbers so that one can experience fully the spaciousness and luxury of the ship.

Departing from Reykjavik in Iceland, the 5-star floating luxury hotel was truly amazing. The service from the crew and staff was exceptional. With many specialty restaurants you can choose from Asian, Mediterranean, Steak and Fish and several more, as well as the fresh buffet-style restaurant court. Excellent live entertainment from highly professional bands and singers could be found in various venues to suit your mood. The ship has a specialist whisky bar, ice cream parlour and a high quality cafe. Afternoon tea was a highlight, served in a lounge bar with panoramic views, and a live pianist to give a real 'Ritz' experience!

The size of the swimming pool was amazing, with a glass roof that could be rolled back on warmer days. A great place to relax, with whirl pools and spa, on sea days or after an exciting excursion onto Iceland's shores. For a true luxury floating hotel experience you cannot beat it!
