Dublin

Dublin is a great place to visit, whether you are a couple, family trip or a group of friends. My trip was with a group of friends and we had a great time.

I always choose a hotel with a good location as often if you are too far out you spend time walking in, then walking around which can be tiring or having to use the bus service, which is fine but much nicer to have a stroll. The Harding Hotel is situated in Fishamble Street, just on the edge of Temple Bar overlooking the Christchurch Cathedral. A former brothel (don't worry it was a long time ago) the staff at this hotel are very welcoming and do all they can to make your stay a great experience.

The hotel has a bistro adjoining where breakfast is served and the Darkey Kelly pub, named after the lady of the house who was thought to be a witch, although now they just think she may have been a murderer instead of a witch! Darkey Kelly has loads of atmosphere and plays live music every night, and is THE place the locals go too. Food was pretty good and reasonable. Rooms are comfortable and bathrooms basic but perfectly fine for a few days.

We did the Viking tour on the old duck buses that go in the water which was great fun. Tours of Whisky houses, Guinness, hop on/off bus tours, shopping or just sit in a bar and enjoy the music - Dublin has lots to offer!
