So what can I say about the ship I saw yesterday, this was a last minute opportunity to see the new ship and a different cruising concept. Explora 1. Explora Journeys are all about being at one with the Ocean, they aim to create an ‘Ocean State of Mind’ to enjoy a fantastic space ratio of 1.25 crew called hosts onboard to the guest. Only 925 guests on a 64,000 ton ships, lots of space onboard to enjoy in your suite or around the ship in the many lounges or out on deck. 6 eating venues, a steak bar, or a place with a French, Eastern or Mediterranean theme plus the Emporium Marketplace which is an informal eating venue where you can enjoy 18 different flavours from around the world. And the very special Anthology, the only place onboard to incur a cover charge, headed by a 3 Michelin star chef! 12 bars and lounges inside and outside all with their own personalities. Not forgetting the spa, casino, shops, a gym and much more. Explora Journeys are all about sustainability, protecting the environments they sail in as well as onboard including no single use plastics and energy saving technology through out the ship. Explora 1 (to be joined by up to 5 more over the next few years) will stay in Europe over the new few weeks before going to the Caribbean. The outside space is light and bright, the indoor space more like a small scale boutique hotel.
