P&O Cruise - Azura June 2016

Caroline Howden on 06 July 2016
I have just returned from my own holiday on board P&O Cruises ship Azura.

I left Southampton on 19 June for a two week trip calling at Belfast, Stornoway, Reykyavik, Akureyi, Isafjordur, Lerwick and Kirkwall - so a real variety and it included five maiden calls for Azura. A very different itinerary and it was this that attracted me to this trip.

Check in was very smooth. We had a check in time of 3:30pm so once we had dropped the car and luggage off we checked in and were on board 20 minutes later, a quick look around, muster drill and by then our luggage was outside our cabin.

Although the ship is large she is quite easy to find your way around. She has all the facilities you would expect of a modern cruise ship; bars, lounges, quiet spaces to just sit and watch the world go by, a gym and lovely Oasis Spa and various dining areas including a few speciality dining areas which carry a small cover charge.

The main dining rooms offer either set dining on first or second sitting, the more flexible freedom dining or the more informal buffet dining.

Speciality Dining offers yet another choice; The Glass House lovely wine bar and dining venue, The Beech House, Sindhu - Indian dining or the dining experience of Epicurean up on deck 17 with an outside terraces overlooking the back of the ship.

Azura has a range of cabins to suit all tastes and budgets; inside, outside then a choice of balcony cabins and more spacious suites.

You can easily fill your time on board with numerous activities laid on for you to join in with if you want to or simply find a sunbed or a quiet corner and do nothing - your choice.

I must add I found the staff all just lovely, happy and always smiling, always able to help if required.

I have added some photographs on here of the ship, more are on my Facebook Business Page. Look for Caroline Howden Travel Counsellors Cruise Specialist.
