A little gem in Greece

I really enjoy a Greek Holiday as I love the food and the people are just so friendly. So I thought I would try somewhere I had not been before – Stoupa. Stoupa is a village on the coast of the Southern Peloponnese peninsula in Greece. Its about 1hrs 15mins from the airport of Kalamata. Its is certainly did not disappoint that I returned again for another visit within the same year.

Stoupa is a very pretty village with a dramatic backdrop of the mountains. There are two large sandy beaches one being Kalogria beach which is in a stunning location with shallow turquoise clear waters and a couple of beautiful tavernas.

Stoupa is certainly low key, the road is closed in the evenings to traffic and the tavernas extend their tables and chairs onto the pavements. It’s a great place to watch the sun go down and see one of the beautiful sunsets .The tavernas and restaurants are family run and I don’t think we had one bad meal at all. Everyone was so friendly and it seems to be a place where people return time after time and after visiting myself I can see why now.
