Ski trip to Bansko

I went on a Ski holiday to Bansko which I was part of a group of 26 for a big birthday celebration. I had not skied in Bansko before. Bansko has developed into a modern ski resort destination, which has excellent facilities and the traditional spirit of the old town that has been beautifully preserved through the centuries with cobbled streets and traditional Bulgarian restaurants.

Skiers and snowboarders of all abilities are well catered for as Bansko has 75 kilometres of marked pistes, which are easily accessed by a fantastic network of lifts. Bansko is classed as one of the best value for money ski destinations in the world, so it is ideal for not only beginners but ski-ers of all abilities that are maybe on a budget but still want that winter holiday.

As the day draws to a close, the après-ski is centred around the local 'Mehanas', a friendly taverna type restaurant serving traditional Bulgarian cuisine and drinks, often with roaring log fires and live entertainment.

It is a resort that certainly has something for everyone and is very popular with families as well.
