Yurts, Dogs and Hot Tub!

Trying to get my partner John to camp is near on impossible. So, when I found a Yurt in Somerset, I knew that would be a good start and we weren’t disappointed.

We left home and took a leisurely drive down to Somerset, stopping a couple of times for Bill & Ernie. We arrived at the Yurt Sanctuary which is between Bath & Wells and was greeted by the lovely host Michele, who showed us to the Yurt our home for the next 2 nights which is named Wildwood. There wasn’t anyone staying in the other Yurt (Little Oak) so the boys had a massive field to run around in at the top of the field was a family of pygmy goats who were so cute.

Wildwood has an outside compost toilet and shower (which was lovely and warm) so good facilities. There is also a recreation barn with electricity points for charging phones etc. Good 4G reception but no Wi-Fi. In the barn there is also a microwave and fridge. Also, by the Yurt there is a small building which hosts a kettle, cutlery, plates etc you can boil the water for tea. The highlight was the wood burning hot tub which we used in the evening, we were lucky with the weather as there wasn’t any rain so enjoyed our 2 nights in the hot tub drinking wine and beer whilst star gazing. It was so peaceful and real “get away from it all” so relaxing! And the best part was having the boys with us all the time and knowing they were totally safe. Inside Wildwood was a lovely comfy bed we did have a radio so we could enjoy some music.

The next day I had a massage by Dan and that was fantastic really relaxing and really helped my aches and pains ?? would recommend.

We also went to Wells which is a lovely little town with some lovely quirky shops, lots of cafes, bars, and restaurants as well as being a Cathedral city. Wells has had city status since medieval times, because of the presence of Wells Cathedral . Often described as England's smallest city. Would 100% recommend and there is plenty of affordable parking.

If you would like further information on Yurt Sanctuary, please contact me. We had a fantastic time!
