Zagreb – Not your usual pre-Christmas break but wow what an amazing place in fact wanted to keep it a secret as its just a beautiful city!

Travelling to Heathrow is easy now as the Elizabeth Line connects straight from Woolwich to Heathrow. This BA flight left from Terminal 3, the Club lounge was a lot less busy than Terminal 5, very smooth transition with Fast Track. Flight was very good, smooth, attentive crew. Arrival at Zagreb was efficient and quick. The journey time from the Airport to the City was approx. 20mins. Arrived at the Dubrovnik Hotel and wow the service was amazing they couldn’t do enough for us. Great location right on the square and with transport links just outside. They were getting ready for the Christmas Lights and market stalls as we arrived so was looking forward to what it would look like in the morning. Had a quick drink in the bar amazing staff!

After a great night’s sleep and one of the buffet breakfast the square looked different, tree up, stalls out and what a great atmosphere. We decided that we would visit the Upper and Lower Town as Zagreb is spilt into two over the next 3 days.

Here are my highlights of Upper Town Catherines Square Radiceva Street – Great shopping Ben Jelacic Square Dolac – Amazing Market the colors of the fruit and veg were fantastic. The Cathedral Tkalciceva Street – Great Bars Stone Gate Opaticka Street St Marks Square St Cyril & Methodius Street

Lower Town Britanski Square Church of St Blaise Republic Square of Croatia Square Ilica Street Petar Preadovic Square Ban Jelacic Square Croatian Nobles Square

If there is only one thing you do eat at “Romer Quelle” – The best fish restaurant ever!! The highlights for me were. So much history The amazing people so helpful, kind and very
