MSC Bellissima launch

Angela Oxley on 07 March 2019
I was onboard overnight on 3rd March to experience the beautiful MSC Bellissima. The 171,000 ton ship carries 5600 passengers. A high percentage of cabins have balconies.

The ship is beautifully appointed and has some Swaroski glass staircases. There are several speciality restaurants including a Butchers Cut Steakhouse, Hola! Tapas Bar, Kaito Sushi Bar, Kaito Teppanyaki and the L'Atelier Bistro. I sampled food in all the speciality restaurants and the quality was excellent. I did not use the self-service buffet, but the choice was extensive, and the food looked delicious. I ate in one of the main dining rooms for dinner. The choice was limited but the food was good.

I had a balcony cabin which was a good size with a good size shower room. There was a flat screen TV and mini-bar. The balcony was adequate and had 2 chairs and a small table on it. A feature of the Bellissima is an interactive device called Zoe in each cabin. It is a virtual personal cruise assistance which will answer numerous questions about the cruise, restaurants and facilities and is available in 7 different languages.

There is a theatre for shows and a venue for Cirque de Soleil shows too. There is also a large casino. Another feature is a bowling alley, Formula 1 simulator, a virtual games arcade, a XD Cinema and a covered basketball/football court. There is a good spa and gym.

The children are well catered for with various clubs and facilities. There is an Aqua Park on deck 19 with 4 waterslides.

There are numerous bars and a long street through the ship where you find the speciality restaurants, several bars and shops.

I was particularly impressed with the Yacht Club which is a private area accessible to Yacht Club guests in the suites. They have their own lounge area, own restaurant and pool. It is an oasis away from the crowds.

I would recommend this ship for families and younger couples and the Yacht Club for people who want a quieter experience with all the facilities of a large ship.
