Lisbon itinerary
A Stylish City Break Full of Flavour, Views & Hidden Gems
There’s something about Lisbon that instantly lifts your mood. Maybe it’s the golden light bouncing off the terracotta rooftops, the charm of its cobbled streets, or the effortless blend of culture, cuisine and coastal beauty. I'm just home from a fabulous short break, and together we’ve crafted the perfect 48-hour itinerary—ideal for clients looking for a quick yet enriching European escape.
Where to Stay
For a central and characterful base, I stayed at My Story Hotel Tejo. Perfectly located in the heart of the city, it offers easy access to Lisbon’s main sights while retaining a boutique, authentic feel. A brilliant choice for those who want to step straight into the buzz of the city.
Day 1: Discovering Lisbon’s Soul
The best way to begin your Lisbon adventure? Get your bearings in style.
I started with a tuk tuk tour—an effortless and fun way to navigate the city’s famous hills while uncovering hidden corners you might otherwise miss. It’s a fantastic introduction, especially if time is limited, and gives you a real sense of Lisbon’s layout and personality.
As evening falls, it’s time to soak up the city’s vibrant dining scene. Dinner at Murals Cantina Mexicana offers a lively, colourful atmosphere and a delicious change of pace. Think bold flavours, great energy, and the perfect start to your Lisbon evenings.Day 2: Wine, Food & Iconic Experiences
Day two is all about indulging in Lisbon’s rich food and wine culture.
A highlight of the trip was a wine tasting at Maria Palato, a wonderful experience for those wanting to explore Portugal’s impressive wine scene. It’s relaxed, informative, and a lovely way to slow the pace and savour the moment.
For dinner, we chose the iconic Bonjardim, famous for its perfectly cooked piri-piri chicken. Simple, authentic and absolutely delicious, it’s one of those places that truly lives up to its reputation.
If You Have a Little More Time…
Lisbon rewards those who linger just a little longer.
For unforgettable views, head to Seen Sky Bar. Perched high above the city, it’s the perfect spot for a sunset drink, with panoramic views that stretch across Lisbon’s rooftops and beyond.
A sunset cruise along the River Tagus is another magical addition, offering a completely different perspective of the city as it glows in the evening light.
And of course, no visit would be complete without exploring Belém. Rich in history and home to some of Lisbon’s most iconic landmarks, it’s the perfect place to round off your stay.
Final Thoughts
Lisbon is a city that effortlessly blends culture, cuisine and charm. Whether it’s your first visit or a return trip, it always has something new to offer.
This 2-day itinerary is just a glimpse of what’s possible, but with the right planning, even a short break can feel truly special.
