From the outside, it might look like I “just book holidays.” But in reality, being a Travel Counsellor is so much more than picking flights and hotels. Every trip I arrange is carefully designed around the people taking it... and the work that goes on behind the scenes is what turns a holiday from something ordinary into something unforgettable.

Here’s a look at what really happens when you book with me.

BEFORE YOU TRAVEL

This is where the magic begins. I start by getting to know you... not just where you want to go, but what kind of experience you’re dreaming of. Do you want somewhere buzzing with activities, or a sanctuary where the loudest sound is the sea? Is your priority fine dining, kids’ clubs, wellness, or exploring culture?

Once I know your preferences, I search through options that fit you, not just what’s trending online. I’ll compare flights, check transfers, recommend the best room types, and make sure your trip works from start to finish. And because of my hotel and supplier relationships, I often secure upgrades or perks that you simply won’t find on booking sites.

WHILE YOU’RE AWAY

This is where clients tell me they really see the difference.

If a flight is cancelled, I’m on hand to rebook you. If a hotel mix-up happens, I’ll speak directly with the manager to fix it. If you need restaurant reservations or spa treatments arranged, I’ll organise them so you don’t have to.

It’s knowing that someone is there, looking out for you, even when you’re thousands of miles from home. For families, that reassurance is priceless. For couples, it means you can relax completely, knowing that someone else has your back.

AFTER YOU RETURN

My role doesn’t stop when you step off the plane. I check in to hear how it went, what you loved most, and if there was anything you’d change for next time. Over the years, I’ve learned that no two clients are the same... some want adventure, others want indulgence - and I keep those notes for when you’re ready to plan again.

It might be a welcome note in your room, a surprise bottle of champagne to celebrate an anniversary, or making sure a child’s birthday cake is waiting at dinner. I’ve arranged private transfers so grandparents don’t need to worry about long walks, and stocked villas with baby essentials so parents can travel lighter.

These touches don’t just “happen” they’re thought through, requested, and arranged in advance. And they make the difference between a nice holiday and one you’ll always remember.

A PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE
