Florida Family Adventure: Orlando Thrills & Naples Beach Bliss

Arrived in Orlando
We touched down safely in sunny Orlando after a seamless flight with Aer Lingus. My top arrival tip: Download the Mobile Passport Control (MPC) app. It’s a real time-saver, whisking you past those long immigration queues so you can start your holiday a little sooner.

Floridays Resort – Home Sweet Home
Our first five nights were spent at Floridays Resort Orlando, nestled on the quieter south end of International Drive. The spacious three-bedroom apartment was perfect for us to spread out and unwind — two bathrooms made mornings a breeze for the whole family! Classic American comfort food called, and The Cheesecake Factory delivered hearty burgers and the largest slice of cheesecake imaginable.

Universal Studios Florida – Fun for All
Day two was dedicated to thrills at Universal Studios Florida. Driving in and parking was stress-free (with a cheeky Dunkin’ breakfast en route). CityWalk welcomes you in with shops and eateries before the adventure begins.

Another money-saver: go for the refillable drinks. Loads of flavours and plenty of stations to keep everyone cool.
Ended the night at Denny’s Diner, full and happy.

A Silver Anniversary at Volcano Bay
Our third day was extra special as we celebrated our Silver Wedding Anniversary at Universal’s Volcano Bay — easily our favourite day so far. The water park is exceptional, and an absolute must for families.
Helpful hint: Snap a photo of your passes — lose or forget them and staff can reprint them in moments.
Dinner at Fogo de Chão rounded off the day brilliantly.

Islands of Adventure – Adrenaline Rush
Next up: Universal’s Islands of Adventure, packed with roller coasters and excitement for thrill seekers.
Pro move: Arrive half an hour before opening to beat the queues and maximise your time.
Maggiano’s Little Italy on International Drive was the perfect spot for a satisfying Italian meal to wind down.

Farewell, Orlando
Our Orlando finale featured a return to the beloved Volcano Bay, followed by a little rainy-day retail therapy at the outlet malls and a family pizza night at MOD Pizza.
Universal Orlando gave us non-stop fun and laughter – the perfect fast-paced start to our Florida adventure.

Naples Beach – Time to Unwind

A Glorious Gulf Coast Welcome
After the buzz of Orlando, the drive to Naples Beach was refreshing, with a leisurely lunch stop at Ellenton Premium Outlets along the way.
A truly warm welcome at Bellasera Hotel, with a wonderful gesture marking our anniversary on arrival.

Laid-Back Luxury
Naples is picture-perfect – white sand beaches, tree-lined streets, boutique shopping, and a fantastic choice of local cafes and restaurants. The hotel’s on-demand courtesy shuttle proved invaluable, whisking us to brunch at Jane’s Café on 3rd after a barefoot stroll along the pristine beach.

Poolside Bliss & Lightning Skies
Days here are meant for relaxation: poolside lounging in a private cabana (first come, first served), or simply enjoying the balmy Florida air on our balcony as lightning danced across the sky.
The impeccable, friendly service at Bellasera made us feel extra special throughout our stay.

Saying Goodbye
Our time in Naples Beach was the perfect way to decompress after Orlando: easy, restful, and utterly beautiful. We left feeling completely recharged — the ideal end to our Florida family adventure.
