A Short Break in Becici, Montenegro: Adriatic Allure at Hotel Montenegro
Tucked between lush mountains and the shimmering Adriatic, Bečići is where Montenegro’s natural beauty truly takes centre stage. My stay at Hotel Montenegro revealed a world of contrasts: tranquil mornings by the bay, scenic walks into Budva’s historic heart, and afternoons spent lounging poolside as the Mediterranean breeze worked its magic. With every step, Montenegro’s effortless charm invites you to slow down, soak up the atmosphere, and rediscover the joy of a perfectly balanced escape.
First Impressions:
What strikes you immediately in Bečići is the meeting of dramatic, green
mountains and the placid blues of the Mediterranean. On one side: densely
forested peaks. On the other: serene, expansive bays. Hotel Montenegro sits
perfectly between the two, a calming haven where every view is a reminder of
the country’s effortless beauty.
Day One: Strolls through History and Poolside Leisure
With the sun gently rising over the mountains, my day
begins with a stroll into Budva’s Old Town. The gentle Adriatic breeze
accompanies each step along the palm-lined promenade, leading me from the
contemporary calm of Bečići to the vibrant echoes of medieval Budva.
Golden stone walls and Venetian relics frame narrow stone streets, while beach
cafés invite a lingering espresso. The town pulses with life: buskers in sunny
plazas, laughter from boats in the sleek marina, and shopfronts overflowing
with hand-crafted treasures.
Returning to Hotel Montenegro, the afternoon slows to the rhythmic pace of the Adriatic. A poolside lounger, a good book, and the gentle hum of conversations from fellow travellers — there’s nothing here but time to truly unwind.
Day Two: Coastal Walks & Adriatic Clarity
Morning brings a fresh layer of possibility. The promenade connecting Bečići to Rafailovići and onwards to Kamenovo Beach offers scenes of classic Adriatic charm — secluded coves, crystal-clear water, and the occasional laughter from a hidden beach bar. Even a gentle rain brings its own tranquillity, with the hotel’s inviting indoor pool providing the perfect warm retreat.
As the clouds part, I’m drawn back to Budva’s Old Town. The scene is cinematic: slick cobblestones glimmer after the rain, and the ancient walls echo with centuries of stories. Here, every corner holds a new surprise — artisan boutiques, animated market stalls, and views that stretch all the way to the horizon.
Montenegro’s magic is everywhere: in the slow walks, the welcoming smiles, the fusion of nature, culture, and tranquillity.
