Exploring Vancouver: Top Tips from My Recent Visit

After a long journey, we kicked off our stay in Vancouver by spending our first night at the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel. This gave us a chance to rest and recharge, which was perfect for traveling with a 4-year-old. The next morning, feeling refreshed, we easily found the SkyTrain in the terminal and made our way into the city. The train’s final stop, Vancouver Waterfront, was conveniently located near our next hotel.

We checked into the Fairmont Waterfront, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. Our harbour-view room kept our little one entertained with the endless stream of cruise ships coming and going.

For our first full day, we ventured to Stanley Park, where we admired the iconic totem poles and spent several enjoyable hours at the Vancouver Aquarium. The aquarium was a highlight for our family—highly recommended if you're visiting with kids!

That evening, we had dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Gastown, a fun and family-friendly spot close to our hotel.

The next day, we took advantage of the free shuttle from Canada Place to visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge. What a memorable day! Even though it rained, the mist added a magical touch to the already stunning experience. This is an absolute must-see when visiting Vancouver.

On our final day, we explored Granville Island. After a short Uber ride, we enjoyed browsing the bustling markets before taking the AquaBus back across the water and strolling through the city to Canada Place.

Vancouver quickly stole my heart. With its mix of nature, family-friendly activities, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere, it’s a city that offers something for everyone. I can’t wait to return!
