4 Days in South Beach
South Beach
Miami is a city that instantly captures your attention from its iconic Art Deco buildings and palm-lined beaches to its vibrant culture, food, and energy. I spent three nights in Miami before setting off on a cruise, and it was the perfect way to soak up the city’s atmosphere. With sunshine, great food, colourful neighbourhoods, and even a classic tropical rain shower, Miami gave me a memorable taste of everything it’s famous for.
Sun, Culture, and Cuban Flavours in Miami before my Cruise.
Miami is a vibrant city that blends stunning beaches, colourful Art Deco architecture, and a rich cultural scene. I spent three nights here before my cruise and it was the perfect introduction to the city I Stayed: Pestana South Beach, ideally located close to the beach and the famous Art Deco district. It was a great base for exploring Miami, with easy access to restaurants, bars, and the ocean. Walking around South Beach, I loved seeing the iconic pastel Art Deco buildings and enjoying the lively atmosphere along Ocean Drive. The beach here is fantastic with soft white sand, clear water, and that unmistakable Miami vibe.
Miami has an incredible food scene, and the Cuban food on Ocean Drive was a standout. The flavours were authentic and full of character, and dining here while watching the world go by was an experience in itself. There’s no shortage of great bars and restaurants throughout South Beach. One thing I loved was how easy it was to get around.
Miami’s Metromover monorail is completely free, and it’s a great way to travel between areas like Downtown and Bayside while enjoying views of the city.
We enjoyed a Bayside Boat Trip & Millionaire Row which was from Bayside Marketplace, I took a boat trip around the bay to see the famous Millionaire Row homes which was good to do. Cruising past the impressive waterfront mansions was a real highlight and a fun way to see a different side of Miami.
Little Havana was a must. The area is full of energy, music, Cuban culture, and amazing food. I also made sure to see Miami’s famous graffiti and street art, which added so much colour and creativity to the trip.
Yes, It Rained! So I’ve truly Been to Miam. We were walking along ocean drive when the rain came and got stuck inside Versace mansion, which wasn't a bad place to be. There is a restaurant and bar and the bar staff are super friendly and its worth stopping for a photo.
It felt like a rite of passage and didn’t take away from the trip at all. After three fantastic nights, we headed from Bayside to begin our cruise, feeling relaxed and having truly enjoyed our time in Miami. From beaches and Art Deco charm to Cuban food and waterfront views, Miami was the perfect place to start our journey.
