Digital Detox Bliss: My Relaxing Escape to San Agustin, Gran Canaria.

At the end of last month, my husband and I escaped to the beautiful resort of San Agustín in Gran Canaria, and it was exactly the recharge I needed. Tucked away on the island’s south coast, San Agustín offers a slightly quieter vibe than its lively neighbour Playa del Inglés, perfect for those looking for sunshine, sea views, and a slower pace of life. From its soft, dark golden sands to the gentle Atlantic breeze, there’s something truly soothing about this part of the island. A True Digital Detox 🌴 This holiday was a little different for me as I decided to switch off digitally for most of the week. No emails, no social scrolling, just time to be present. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while, and it reminded me how important it is to pause.

Sunshine, Sea and Simplicity Most mornings started the same way with stretches on the beach, the sound of the waves rolling in, followed by a quick dip in the ocean to wake up. Then we’d wander along the beach, soaking up the calm before the day began. I also managed to get lost in three books, something I haven’t done in ages. There’s something about lying in the sun with a cool drink and a good story that feels like pure bliss. And speaking of sun, I think I soaked up enough vitamin D to last me through winter or until the next holiday!

Hotel Highlights Our hotel was an absolute gem. A few things that really stood out: • Reserved sun loungers for the entire stay (such a simple thing, but what a treat not to rush out in the morning) • Friendly and welcoming staff, always smiling and happy to help • Spotless rooms and communal areas, which made such a difference • And of course, the delicious food and drinks — nothing quite beats beer o’clock in the sunshine! 🍺
