CENTRAL GREECE
The main draw in central Greece is of course Delphi – not only the most important ancient site in Greece but one of the most dramatically sited, on the slopes of steep Parnassos and boasting glorious views to the sea.
The first part of this trip started off in ITEA which is about 20 minutes from Ancient Delphi.
It doesn't get many British tourists (unless they are visiting Delphi) - we liked how it was typically Greek.
The beaches were never crowded during the day as most Greeks only go to the beach after 5....which is what we also did part of the time as it was stupidly hot - hitting 40c. Around this area are beautiful mountains & some amazing scenery.
We saw what we call Christmas Trees, as in winter they go skiing in this part of Greece. It was very Alpine looking when you got high and some of the chalets looked beautiful. We also visited Ancient Delphi - again good views and Delphi is a cute little town worth an overnight stay.
I highly recommend this area, especially if you appreciate good views & love Mountains.
Here are just a few photos from the many I took.
