For a premium economy service, try World Traveller Plus – a more comfortable and relaxing experience available on longer routes, proving that a premium service doesn’t have to break the bank. In addition to all the usual benefits of flying World Traveller Plus, there are a range of changes and enhancements to the cabin that will provide passengers with an even better experience.
As part of British Airways’ £6.5 billion-pound investment plan, the World Traveller Plus cabin will be receiving a range of improvements which will include new furnishings, an enhanced service and an improved dining experience.
Delicious new menus are now available and feature a third main meal option and a hot second meal later in the flight. The launch menu consists of favourites such as braised British beef, roasted guinea fowl and a rigatoni pasta in a creamy garlic and herb sauce.
From spring, British Airways will also be rolling out its new collection of World Traveller Plus amenities, with new toiletry kits, quilts and pillows.
All of the improved features are in addition to the new World Traveller Plus seat that was revealed last year, featuring a 50% larger entertainment screen and a six-way adjustable leg, foot and headrest to suit customers of all heights.
TC tip: As a World Traveller Plus customer, you can pre-order your main meal up to 24 hours before departure. Let your Travel Counsellor know so that they can guarantee your first choice of main meal with the airline.
While the World Traveller Plus cabin features a smaller number of rows for a more intimate and exclusive experience, it is big on features. Wide seats with head and foot rests, extra leg room, comfy cushions, amenity kits and even power supplies, which are provided to keep your laptop and other electronic devices charged, are all part and parcel of the World Traveller Plus experience.
In addition to those amenities, these great-value, all-inclusive fares have no hidden charges, a generous free baggage allowance, delicious meals with a full bar service, a fantastic personal entertainment system with complimentary headphones and activity packs for kids, ensuring that little ones are catered for.
With so many incredible long-haul destinations available to fly to on World Traveller Plus, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Here is a selection of our favourite routes.
Enjoy an eclectic mix of British and Chinese culture in Hong Kong. Known as a top shopping destination, the city’s bustling markets and shopping malls offer everything from souvenirs to designer favourites. Hong Kong also has a pulsating restaurant and nightlife scene, with plenty going on to fill up an evening. However, Hong Kong is not all skyscrapers and shopping malls – the Outlying Islands and New Territories are a sharp contrast to the fast pace of city life, offering travellers serene landscapes of mountains and meadows dotted with hidden temples and traditional villages.
“The Peak Tower is an absolute must for fabulous views over the amazing skyline of Hong Kong, and you can pre-book this to avoid queues. Take a trip over to Hong Kong Island on the Star Ferry, then pay a visit to Stanley Market to get lovely souvenirs. Make sure you bring an extra bag to take all your purchases home with you.”

Barbados’ stunning natural environment is all Caribbean, with beautiful sandy beaches, tropical rainforest and diverse wildlife. The island has a fascinating combination of British, African and West Indian cultures. Highlights include colonial architecture, the UNESCO heritage site Georgetown Garrison, rum tours, plantation houses, art galleries and a lively music scene. The finest hotels are to be found on Barbados’ upmarket west coast, including its renowned Sandy Lane resort, with its sheltered beaches of attractive golden sand. There are fewer hotels on the unspoiled east coast, where the stunning coastline is buffered by Atlantic waves.
Offering plenty of opportunities to shop, dine and discover Arabian culture, Dubai is so much more than a quick stopover. From glittering hotel lobbies dripping with ornate furnishings to the simple hospitality of a Bedouin desert camp, Dubai has experiences to suit a wide variety of tastes and preferences. Head up to one of the observation decks in the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, visit a multitude of designer stores at Dubai Mall or soak up the sun along La Mer, the city’s newest beachside destination.
