Paradise Found: Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort, Cancun

30 September 2016

For the ultimate luxurious getaway this Autumn, Travel Counsellors has negotiated a fantastic rate at the Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort in Mexico’s Cancun. This beachfront resort offers guests five-star amenities and top-notch service amongst lush tropical landscaping – all on the doorstep of some of Mexico’s fantastic historical and cultural sites.

You’ll fly with British airways to Cancun and then be transferred to the Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort on a ten-minute shuttle journey. The resort nestles along the seafront a short distance from Cancun and many of the sumptuous rooms have views looking out to the turquoise sea and white sand shore.

A perfect escape

Relax in your in-room whirlpool or explore the resort’s unbeatable amenities. The spa and hydrotherapy area is truly world-class and you can enjoy spa and balneotherapy treatments for a perfect relaxing treat.

Explore the resort’s seven wonderful pools, which include two amazing children’s pools – so you can be sure there’s somewhere for everyone to find their favourite spot to relax by the pool.

Golfers are blessed here, of course. You are invited to play the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course on the resort. But there are plenty of other fitness activities to keep you entertained if golf isn’t your bag. Why not try the resort’s Flowrider surf simulator, mini golf, two gyms, beach and pool volleyball, six tennis courts, mountain bikes, or motorized and non-motorized water sports?

Dining and entertainment options are also varied – choose from Mexican, international, American, Italian and Asian cuisine. There are also twelve bars to choose from, including six pool bars with swim-up service.

Later, the resort’s nightclub, Noir, opens its doors. The resort is no stranger to putting on a show – check with us which big name guests are scheduled for the dates you’d like to stay. Recent entertainment guests include Michael Bolton and Shakira. These shows are free for guests at the resort, as are the daily and nightly shows which include a Mexican night and fire show and theme parties.

Great for kids

The Moon Palace might be a little slice of paradise for adults, but kids will enjoy it here just as well. In addition to the two amazing kids’ pools, one with water slides, the resort also offers two playgrounds and the “Playroom” kids club (which is free for children between the ages of 4 and 12).  Older kids are catered for too – with a Fashion Room, Xbox room, theatre and the “Wired” Teens Lounge with arcade and video games.

Explore Cancun

The resort is just thirty-five minutes from the centre of Cancun, so you can explore the resort’s vibrant heart. Pick up some holiday souvenirs at Cancun’s outdoor shopping mall, La Isla shopping village. Or, for a more authentic flavour, try your hand at haggling at Mercado 28.

The resort does have its own tour desk, so you can book day trips to local sights like Isla Mujeres or the nearby Mayan ruins at El Rey, Tulum, Coba, Chichen Itza or Ek Blaam while you are there. Alternatively, if you know you’d like to take in some of the region’s fascinating history and culture while you stay at this luxurious resort, your Travel Counsellor can help you put an itinerary together.
