Budapest

Budapest is one of those cities that constantly ranks in various top ten lists, yet it’s still hardly visited by many travellers. After seeing so many amazing pictures, I finally decided to make a stop there on my most recent Euro trip. With stunning architecture, refreshing thermal baths, and a culture that can be unique, Budapest lives up to its reputation.

Many travellers have yet to commit to Budapest due to old fears. It’s part of Eastern Europe so people tend to have misconceptions of what to expect. English is very commonly spoken, and I assure you there is no communism here. It’s a must visit for tourists looking for something a little off the beaten path.

Whether you are looking for a romantic weekend break, or a cultural historic adventure, Budapest offers it all. I was extremely lucky to have stayed in the Boscolo Hotels which has been named the most beautiful café in the world. I felt like I was in St Paul's Cathedral, definitely worth a visit for high tea if not an overnight stay.

Make sure you bring your walking shoes. We did the hop on hop off and saw every attraction that was listed. However jumping off and exploring the amazing streets and buildings adds to the mileage you will accumulate.

Eating and drinking will not drain the Bank. We had a knight out in the Jewish quarter with all the quirky ruin bars and spent between £1.75 and £2.00 a pint and less for a glass of wine.
