Savour the seas with Oceania’s culinary excellence

As well as exceptionally personalised service, a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and expertly curated travel experiences, Oceania has long been known as a fantastic cruise line for foodies. With an expanded array of relaxed dining options now available aboard their eight ultra-premium small ships, there’s never been a better time to book your place on board.

Savour the seas with Oceania’s culinary excellence

New sushi and Indian cuisine offerings at Terrace Café and a revamped poolside lunch menu at Waves Grill are part of Oceania’s redefinition of what has long been regarded as some of the finest cuisine at sea. This doesn’t always mean a white-linen tablecloth and starched napkins. It can also mean delighting in the perfect pizza or an enticing burrata dish enjoyed alfresco with a crisp glass of white wine as you set sail. The finest does not always mean fanciest…

Key to the experience is the perfect combination of an innovative culinary team and the freshest ingredients. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Terrace Café at the centre of Oceania’s laidback dining sees its impressive array of global cuisines expand even further with the addition of an expansive daily sushi station embracing 45 brand-new recipes created by Oceania Cruises’ newly appointed Executive Culinary Directors, chefs Alex Quaretti and Eric Barale, and their talented team.

Terrace Café also has a new Indian Corner, operating one evening on every cruise. Some of its 15 authentic Indian recipes have been handed down through generations to now be seen through a new lens and brought to new audiences. They include a butter chicken and a dhal that have received rave reviews from guests.

Meanwhile, Waves Grill, Oceania’s poolside lunch venue, allows you to savour well-loved signature dishes and new favourites from their revamped menu – served straight to your loungers if you desire. Its more than 20 reinvented options include the signature Surf & Turf Wagyu burger with lobster medallions and truffle mayonnaise and the new Philly Cheesesteak hot sandwich with shredded sirloin and provolone. These venues are all relaxed yet refined, with ritual and theatre of their own – there are no ‘fast’ food options where you’ll feel rushed.

When it comes to the cruise line’s award-winning specialty restaurants, there will be more surprises to share before the end of the year as the executive chefs review the menus across all ships ahead of the launch of Allura in just over a year. There will be new dishes to unveil in Red Ginger, the signature pan-Asian venue, an expansion of Oceania’s exclusive wine-pairing lunch options, and a fresh look at the menus in the grande dame of the line’s eateries, The Grand Dining Room.

Foodie sister ships Marina and Riviera, joined by Vista in 2023 and soon by Allura in 2025, were the ever first ships to have an onboard cooking school. Built around the galleys in the shipyard, they have more galley space and more fresh food storage than any other ship. Oceania Cruises also has the highest percentage of culinary staff devoted to the dining experience than any other cruise company – one chef for every ten guests, with half of the crew dedicated to the cooking or serving of food.
