Faro City Break

16 January 2024

Flying direct from Newcastle to Faro and then a short 15 minute taxi ride to Faro City centre - We stayed at the 4* Eva Senses hotel on a bed and breakfast basis in a suite with city view. The hotel has a 24 hour reception, serves a lovely buffet breakfast and you can also book into the 5th floor restaurant for a buffet lunch or evening meal. There is also a rooftop bar and terrace, rooftop pool with terrace and Adao restaurant and bar on the ground floor. Rooms are comfortable and the hotel is in a great location for exploring the Faro centre which you can easily do on foot. The pretty marina with is constantly changing tides coming in and out - covering and uncovering the pretty mermaid sculpture is a nice area for a stroll. The marina area has cafes and restaurants for people watching and enjoying the sunset views. Also the FAR sign for your must have holiday and social pictures. Take a boat trip to Ria Formosa and the nearby islands, great for wildlife and bird spotting. We took the local bus to Albufeira and Vila Moura - very easy to get around and explore. You can also take the train from Faro and local taxis are well priced too. The small cobblestone streets seem intertwined and endless with some really characterful buildings, shops, bars and restaurants. Lots of choices for food with local Portuguese , seafood, steak, Italian, Chinese, Japanese and even McDonalds too. The old town is a must! Either on foot, on the little Tourist Train or maybe hire the E bike or scooter. Inside the old city walls is Faro Cathedral and the Town Hall, pretty cobbled streets, cafes and restaurants too. We also took a taxi to Forum Algarve shopping mall - lots of high street stores a supermarket and food mall with lots of choice for lunch. When exploring the city remember to look up at the Churches, Cathedral and even the tall lamp posts where you will see the large White Storks nesting. We stayed 4 days/ 3 nights but could happily of stayed a couple more nights - very chilled and relaxed vibe. Get in touch to and let’s start planning and book your Faro city break today.

Short break to Cap St George, Pegia, Cyprus

04 April 2023

Ideally positioned on the South West coastline next to the Akamas National park, the Cap St George offers stunning sunset views. Lovely sitting on the terrace with a cocktail watching the sun go down before getting ready for dinner. I enjoyed a lovely 5 days here in March and the weather was a pleasant 20 - 23 degrees. We did manage a few hours relaxing around the pool and a quick dip in it too. It’s a nice time to visit for a short break as its not as hot or as busy compared to the peak summer months. The hotel is 5* understated luxury in a very quiet location, away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist resorts. Ideal for a relaxing few days or longer if you would like to hire a car and explore further. The food at the hotel was very good, fresh and lots of choice. We ate at the Italian, Mediterranean and Teppanyaki restaurants as well as the buffet for breakfasts – all were very good. We did make use of the lovely spa too with indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam and salt therapy room. The local area is quiet. There is a coastal path about 3km from the front of the hotel which has lovely coastal views. On one side it leads to some beautiful sea caves and the other direction leads to Agios Georgios – a lovely tiny fishing village with an archaeological site, fishing harbour, Church, local shop and restaurant. We did venture out further to explore Cyprus a little. We visited Omodos, a village in the Troödos Mountains, located in the Limassol District of Cyprus. The village produces local wine and holds a wine festival every August. We visited the 17th-century stone-built monastery and walked around the cobblestone paths. We sampled the local wine and food at Katoi authentic restaurant with traditional music and dancing. There are several restaurants, traditional tavernas and shops, housed in traditional buildings. On the way we also stopped at Aphrodites Rock – a sea stack just off the shore on the road from Paphos to Limassol. We had a fabulous afternoon with lunch, local music and dancing at St George farm which is owned by the hotel and where they grow a lot of their own organic fruit and vegetables for the hotel. They also make their own Olive Oil and Honey here too. We also visited Agios Georgios Pegeia Archaeological Site, The Mosaics in Paphos Unesco World Heritage Site, The marina area in Paphos and The Tombs of the Kings Unesco World Heritage Site. A lovely short break and some sunshine to re charge the batteries.

New York New York – The City That never sleeps!

08 December 2022

We visited New York Oct 22 for my 50th birthday and what a place to visit for your birthday. I visited with my husband Graeme and my son Evan. We stayed 6 nights, flying from Newcastle via London Heathrow to JFK. As soon as we landed we couldn’t wait to get out and about. We had a pre booked transfer to our hotel, checked in and then went out to explore and get a feel for the area. We booked an attraction pass which was great for us. We like to be up and out exploring all day. You have to there is so much to see and do and just not enough time. It definitely helps to be organized and have a plan of what you would like to see and do otherwise it can be overwhelming. We managed to fit so much into our stay – early mornings and late nights but so glad we did – it was an amazing trip and here is a little peek at the highlights for you. We did the Big Bus tours from Times Square which was great to give you an overview of the city and areas and get a feel for what is where. We also used the subway a lot, we stayed right next to Grand Central Station, a beautiful building in itself to explore but a great base for jumping on the various subway lines which take you all over the city and beyond. We did all the major attractions - 911 memorial & museum, Times Square, Madame Tussaud’s, The Rise, Grand Central Station, Battery Park, Staten Island Ferry to Liberty Island to see Lady Liberty & the museum, the return boat via Ellis Island & the Immigration Museum, One World Observatory - SKYPOD Observation, Central Park, Empire State building, Top of the Rock, Pedicab tour of Central Park, Central Park zoo & children’s petting zoo too. There are free things to do too so you don’t always have to pay – we visited the National Museum of the American Indian, New York Public Library, United Nations Building, Grand Central Station, Times Square, Battery Park, Bryant Park, 911 memorials and Central Park. Of course, lots of shopping too – Macy’s Bloomingdales, Saks 5th Avenue, Woodbury Common and more. Plus, just walking the streets is great. So many amazing buildings to see and lots going on. We saw a TV commercial being filmed at The Rockefeller Centre when we were there. There are lots of tours you can do too with local guides. These are walking or coach and really give you a feel for the real New York as they are hosted by local guides who are really knowledgeable. I love things like this as it’s really authentic, informative and interactive. We did a full day guided bus tour – authentic New York visiting Harlem, Queens, The Bronx and Brooklyn with several short stops and a very funny, friendly informative guide Gorge. My favourite stops were the BMW bridges – Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg and Bushwick in Brooklyn a really diverse neighbourhood where we had real New York Pizza and looked at all the amazing street art. We also did a guided tour of The Rockefeller Centre and a guided walking Marvel City Tour – both great and very informative, things you would never know or see just walking around yourself. The highlight of our trip for me was our visit to Broadway – a special birthday treat. We went to see Disney’s The Lion King which was amazing. So many food options in New York to suit everyone from the wide variety of street food vendors, McDonald’s, Bagel / sandwich / coffee shops, China Town, Little Italy, real NY Pizza, Irish bars with home cooked favourites, American Diners and nicer restaurants too. You won’t go hungry. I literally don’t think we could have fit in any more…. A great trip and October was a great time to visit. When we were there the Ice Rink in Central Park had opened, they were busy freezing over Rockefeller and the Christmas Tree was coming the following week. A few of the shops had started decorations too in preparation for the most magical time to visit – Christmas and New Year. If you would like to visit New York, please get in touch. Not only can I book NYC for you but help you plan and get the best out of your time there too. What are you waiting for?

Barcelona - Cruising the Med on Wonder of the Seas

06 September 2022

We flew to Barcelona the day before our sailing and stayed one night in Barcelona at the Apollo Hotel affiliated by Melia which is about ten minutes from Las Ramblas. On the Saturday We had a walk to Las Ramblas, along the Marina and had dinner at a nice little Italian restaurant. Sunday morning after breakfast we had a walk around town and the shopping centre at the Marina. We then took a taxi about 20 minutes to the cruise terminal. The boys were wowed, their first cruise and what an amazing ship when you pull up outside – WONDER OF THE SEAS - its HUGE ! We did a 7 night round trip from Barcelona August 2022, stopping at Palma Majorca, Provence Marseille France , Cittavechia Rome Italy, Florance/Pisa (La Spezia) Italy, Naples Italy and back to Barcelona. This ship is amazing with so much to explore and experience and a wide range of shore excursions too for different durations and costs. We left the ship at all ports and our favourites were Palma, Pisa and Pompei. In Palma we took a city tour on a horse drawn carriage and visited the Cathedral. La Spezia we did an excursion to the amazing Pisa and a noddy train tour around the ton and in Naples an excursion to Pompei which was amazing. Onboard you will certainly never die of starvation….. many bars and food options from hot dogs, American diner, sports bar, Italian, seafood, pizza, vitality cafe, teppanyaki , sushi, chops grill , main dining room a la carte and main buffet restaurant - so much and always something open for food 24/7 with casual and formal options. Entertainment- Theatre, open air cinema, aqua cinema, ice show, karaoke, night club, casino, live music, game shows, quiz, bingo always something going on. The boys had fun daily at the 4 outdoor pools, 3 water slides, Abyss dry slide dropping 10 decks, basketball, arcade, video games, jacuzzi, table tennis, pool table, open air cinema, mini golf, surf simulator, zip wire, rock climbing, gym ….. who said cruising is boring and not for families! The weather was so hot and really good apart from a little storm leaving Italy but it soon dried up and plenty to do inside and outside so it was no problem. We had a balcony cabin for 4 which was fine for us as to be honest we were never in it! We had a great family holiday, you can relax on deck or go on shore or do activities. Do as much or as little as you like. We fitted a lot into our 8 nights away and had a great time seeing several destinations but only unpacking once.

Summer time in Austria

16 September 2022

We flew from Manchester to Innsbruck and then a transfer to the first of my two locations in Austria – Saalbach. We stayed at the lovely Hotel Saalbacher Hof - a beautiful hotel in a great location with a great vibe. The hotel has modern / funky touches commissioned by various artists, an outdoor & indoor pool, sauna, steam, jacuzzi, massage, beauty treatments, yoga, 2 bars with outside patio area, 2 restaurants plus bar food and lots more. This hotel has so much history with lots of information on show for guests to see plus a very informative weekly hotel history tour which was very interesting. We stayed Half Board and the food was great. This is a small resort with a few hotels, shops, bars and restaurants plus a small water park. There is a very good local bus service which I did use to visit other nearby resorts. In the morning we walked the river route Saalbach to Hinterglemm, lovely easy walk on the level. In Hinterglemm, another small resort with cafes, restaurants, shops and hotels - definitely worth a visit I visited a wood art gallery, beautiful coffee shop and then took the local bus back to Saalbach. On the afternoon we went on the gondola in Saalbach - The Shattberg Xpress Gondola, over 2020 m to the viewing point for some amazing views. Another must do when visiting. Then back to the hotel for a well deserved dip in the pool. Another day we took the bus and then the noddy train up the valley to the Talschlusszug activity park. This was a great day out where we crossed The Golden Gate Suspension Bridge, walked the high walkway, did a walk up the valley and had a lovely lunch. Stunning location and lots to do for all the family. We travelled to a second resort for a few days - Zell am See, an Austrian town on Lake Zell, south of the city of Salzburg. Its Romanesque St. Hippolyte Church has a distinctive tower added in the 15th century. Trails and lifts lead to the ski slopes of Schmittenhöhe mountain where you can walk, cycle, ski or just go for lunch! We stayed in the lovely Hotel Tirolerhof, right in the centre. We were half board and the restaurant had lovely food. A bar, indoor pool, spa, roof terrace and our room had a balcony with views over the town. We did so much here – on our first day we had a very refreshing swim in Lake Zell. We also went to the public Lido on the Lake where we relaxed with lovely views all around and a couple of drinks in the bar before going back to the hotel for dinner. The following day we took the Chair Lift and then the Gondola up the Mountain with views from Gipfelwelt 3000 panoramic platform, at the top – just amazing views and we visited the Ssisi chapel and ski museum at the top too. We stopped at a restaurant on the way down, an amazing spot to have lunch with the mountains all around you. Then back down to Zell and we did a boat trip around the lake, taking about 50 mins. Then a well deserved relax in the spa before dinner and the water, light and music show at the Lake So much to see and do in Zell with great bus and train links, activities on the lake like boat hire, boat trips, swimming, Lido and water sports. You can hire bikes, visit the bars, shops , restaurants, ski diving, mini golf, water show on the lake and so much more. These resorts are a lot busier in Winter for Skiing but I was really surprised at what they offered in the summer too. The scenery is just stunning, everywhere you look. So much to see and do you will not be bored but you can do as much or as little as you like. The public transport is really good making it easy and cheap to explore. I absolutely loved Austria and will definitely be back !

River Cruising on The Danube - Vienna, Bratislava, Esztergom & Budapest

02 June 2022

River Cruise - Vienna, Bratislava, Esztergom and Budapest – March 2022 My first River Cruise sailing the beautiful Danube. What a way to travel – in style, luxurious cabins, great cuisine, drinks, live music, great service and stunning views from my cabin or when lounging on the top deck. The ships have excellent facilities onboard with spa, pool, e-bikes, live music, wine tasting, guest speakers, cookery lessons, yoga, cards, quiz, dancing and so much more. Plus the amazing experiences you get from your destinations along the way with your ship stopping right in the heart of the destination. Vienna, Austria I visited Vienna for a few days with friends before the sailing. We flew with British Airways from Newcastle via London Heathrow to Vienna. The flight was great and on arrival we took a taxi to the hotel which was around 50 euros. The local transport system in Vienna is great with a local underground, train, bus and tram service. We used the underground several times at around 2.40 euros per trip or you can get a pass for a few days too. In the City centre they also have the horse drawn carriage tours and hop on hop off bus tours which are a great way to get around the City The capital of Austria and famous for Mozart, Beethoven, palaces and museums. A beautiful city, full of history and culture, so clean and so much to see and do and with an excellent, cheap public transport system its so easy to explore. We walked and explored the Prater Amusement Park with many rides and the famous 1897 Giant Ferris Wheel which offers amazing views. We took the ‘U’ underground into central Vienna and explored the sights on foot with many designer stores, high end jewellery and souvenir shops. Many food options from authentic cuisine to seafood, pizza, sandwiches and even McDonald’s. Also lots of street food options where you can even grab champagne along with your hotdog! The evening we took a coach and walking tour with an excellent local guide showing us all the must see sights of St Stephens Cathedral, National History Museum, The State Opera House, The Hoftburg, The Spanish Riding School and so much more. We stayed in Vienna 1 night before our sailing, giving us the evening and the full following day to explore the city before boarding the ship late afternoon. An excellent city and will definitely return. We then boarded and settled into our cabins ready to sail overnight to our next destination – Bratislava. Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia Another stop on the Danube River Cruise which is on the border with Austria and Hungary. Lots of history, culture and great local wine. It’s surrounded by vineyards and the Little Carpathian mountains, with forested hiking and cycling trails. The pedestrianised 18th-century old town is known for its little bars, souvenirs shops, shopping mall and cafes. Beautiful architecture in Bratislava. Coffee shops, restaurants, souvenir shops. It was lovely sitting in the square watching the world go by. On the hill, the reconstructed Bratislava Castle overlooks the old town and the River Danube UFO observation deck - Bratislava Just a short walk from the River Cruise dock and Old Town the 7th largest hanging bridge in the world with amazing panoramic views of Bratislava from the open-air observation deck in the UFO-shaped cupola. Climb over 400 steps or take the elevator and why not have dinner in the fine dining restaurant or a drink in the bar while you’re up there, too. Esztergom Hungary - The stunning Basilica • Ground breaking 122 • Completion 1869 Absolutely stunning Beautiful Esztergom, Hungary A lovely walk up Castle Hills many steps to reach the Basilica which is absolutely stunning inside and out. Excellent views from the hill too of the Danube below. Budapest, what an amazing city ! Hungary’s capital, on the River Danube where the River Cruise ships dock right in the heart of the city allowing you to walk right in and see the amazing history, culture and try out the fabulous restaurants, coffee shops, shopping district, local market and street food vendors. Venture further with great transport options – e-scooters, bikes, taxi, tram and under ground. Its 19th-century Chain Bridge connects the hilly Buda district with flat Pest. A funicular runs up Castle Hill to Buda’s Old Town, Budapest History Museum, Buda Palace and the Matthias Church. Walk along the river on the Pest side and visit ‘The shoes on the Danube’ very moving memorial. also the Parliament Buildings and take in great view of the Buda side. Other must sees are - Heroes Square, St Stephens Basilica, The State Opera House and so much more. So much to do and see. Maybe a day at the Zoo, ride the Budapest Eye, sail on the Danube, visit one of the many spas or shopping and some great food and a coffee watching the people go by. Take a tour or a stroll at night and see Budapest lit up in all its glory. A River Cruise works excellently to get the best from your time in Budapest I had such a great time and will definitely be back.

Half Term family Sunshine in Tenerife

25 February 2022

So, I have just returned from a lovely stay in Tenerife with my family. My husband Graeme and two boys Ethan 20 and Evan 12. We had a great time, and the weather was beautiful too for February at 21-25 degrees, definitely better than the windy, stormy weather that we left behind in the UK. We stayed in a very nice 4* All Inclusive family resort in Playa de la Arena. The Landmar Costa Los Gigantes which is one of the largest hotel complexes in the South of Tenerife, around 30- 40 minutes by private transfer or 55 minutes by coach transfer. We also visited the 4* Landmar Hotel Play La Arena. We visited the local area of Santiago del Teide on the West Coast which incorporates three small resorts which we visited. • Playa de la Arena • Los Gigantes • Puerto de Santiago We arrived on time at Tenerife South airport after a 4-hour 50 minutes flight from Newcastle. After collecting our luggage, we left arrivals and met our private transfer to the hotel which took only about 40 minutes. A minivan ideal for a family of 4 with luggage – our own space and direct transfer, travelling past the many Banana plantations on route. Hotel Costa Los Gigantes On arrival at the hotel Costa Los Gigantes the reception staff were very helpful and informative giving information on the room, hotel, and local area. The bell boy then took us and our luggage on the buggy to our room which was an Ocean View Suite. Our room was very spacious with a separate bedroom with twin beds, a lounge with two-piece sofa bed making two beds, a bathroom with walk in shower and a terrace with amazing sea views across the Atlantic Ocean and of the cliffs of Los Gigantes. You can also see the Canary Island of La Gomera across the ocean. The hotel caters well for all age children and adults with excellent on-site facilities and a wide variety of food, so much so that you could easily not even leave the complex and not get bored or hungry. The complex is gated and entry at all gates is by room key card. Just a brief overview for you on the hotel – If you would like more information please get in touch. • Facilities – spa, massage, gym, hairdressers, mini market, kids club, soft play, high ropes, darts, basketball, football, zip wire, tennis, mini golf, volleyball, water polo, yoga, aqua aerobics, wine tasting, day & evening entertainment and mini disco, children’s playground and more…. • 5 Outdoor freshwater Pools (2 children’s) plus a water slide, children’s splash area and a massive indoor Spa area with pool. 1 pool is quieter with no inflatables, balls or music and the other is more active with music, games and inflatables / balls allowed. • Food and Drink options – Two buffet restaurants serving breakfast and dinner, outdoor snack bar area for drinks and food, outdoor dining area serving buffet lunch and evening a la carte options in The Grill or Italian, Outdoor bar, show bar serving evening drinks, main bar in the main reception building and garden bar area. All serving a wide variety of food for adults and children and a range of hot, cold (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) drinks. What is there to do here? We really enjoyed our stay in Tenerife. • Enjoy the hotel facilities - relaxing around the pool, we had a day at the Spa, a day doing mini golf and high ropes and a day at the Bali Beds private area. • We also had a day at the local beach in Play de la Arena – only a ten-minute walk down the hill, a small compact resort with a Blue Flag black sandy beach, several small shops, restaurants and bars and a supermarket. Costal path running through the three resorts. A very laid back vibe compared to neighbouring resorts. • We visited Los Gigantes looking at its amazing cliffs with heights of around 5-800 metres after which the town was named. It’s a small compact town with several shops, bars and restaurants and a small black sandy beach – ‘Playa Los Guios’. It also has a small port from where you can do Dolphin and Whale watching trips, fishing trips or sit with a coffee and watch the ships and people come and go. The resort is on the hill side so can be steep hills or several steps when walking around. It took us around 30 minutes walking the higher route from the hotel and around 40 mins walking back the coastal pathway. Or in a taxi from our hotel, it was about 10-15 minutes and only cost 4 Euro. There is also a natural ocean swimming area and ‘Oasis’ an outdoor public swimming pool with splash area and bowls. A nice day out and the walk along the coastal path from Playa de la Arena, through Puerto de Santiago and onto Los Gigantes has amazing coastal views. • We went on a Dolphin & Whale sightseeing boat trip from Los Gigantes port, which was around 2 hours, stopping to take pictures of the Dolphins. We also stopped at the beautiful, secluded Masca Bay for swimming and snorkelling which can only be accessed by boat, or a 3 hour walk from the remote Masca Village. It is rumoured that this was once a pirate’s hideaway! We sailed back to port alongside the huge Los Gigantes cliffs. It really was a good trip. • Take a taxi to Costa Adeje. It took around 30 minutes and cost 30 Euro each way. We spent the full day here. It is a much busier resort, much more commercialised with many hotels, shops, bars, restaurants, fast food restaurants, a lovely beach and a port where you can do boat trips, jet ski etc. You can also walk from here along the coast to Los Cristianos and onto Las Americas. Tenerife has so much to offer all ages and lots to keep you entertained. It is very popular with cyclists, you can take a trip up to explore Mount Teide, day trip to Siam Park waterpark in Costa Adeje, daytrip to Loro Parque Zoo to see the animals in Puerto de la Cruz, hire a car and explore further resorts and villages, boat trips, water sports, golf, beaches and more.

NCL EPIC - Mediterranean Sailing

09 September 2021

So last week my husband and I took a short Mediterranean Cruise departing from Barcelona on a round trip sailing to Sardinia. We sailed with Norwegian Cruise Line onboard the amazing ship ‘EPIC’. We started our journey leaving home and staying at The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel at Newcastle Airport overnight ready for an early flight the following morning. We had a great night sleep and a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant along with a couple of drinks to get the holiday started. The following morning we parked our car in the long stay at Newcastle Airport and off we went to the terminal to drop our bags which were checked in through to our final destination in Barcelona. We flew with British Airways, Newcastle to London Heathrow and then straight on again with British Airways, London Heathrow to Barcelona. The journey right from the start at the hotel, parking, airport and flights were great. Everything on time and to plan and great procedures in place with social distancing, mask wearing and hand sanitising and very helpful staff. We arrived midday and had airport transfers included with NCL so once we collected our luggage at Barcelona we went down to the exit where the NCL representative was waiting for us and took us to our coach. The journey to the port was 20-30 minutes, not bad at all. We got off the coach and the NCL staff were waiting to take our luggage up to our cabins whilst we were guided to the port side Covid testing centre which was arranged by NCL for all passengers and done by a third party provider. Around 15 minutes for the certified results by email and you were clear to go to check in. Very quick check in at the port by NCL and we had our key cards and off we went to go through security and scanners and then on board EPIC early afternoon. Our cabin was a balcony stateroom which was very nice, bright and modern. Very clean, well presented with a large queen bed, sofa, bathroom facilities, Tea & Coffee making, TV, hair dryer, sufficient storage, full length mirror and full height patio doors leading to a private balcony with two chairs. We had lovely views over Barcelona especially when leaving port in the afternoon. We sailed overnight and the full following day before arriving early morning the following day at Sardinia. Waking up again to amazing views from our balcony which is definitely a plus of having a balcony cabin along with lovely sunsets and the moon and stars at night. We had a lovely day in Cagliari, Sardinia visiting a beautiful Cathedral, exploring the old buildings, church and small streets and amazing view points at the highest points where you could see the many resident pink flamingos in the salt lakes below. That evening we were back onboard for the return sailing to Barcelona overnight and the full following day at sea and arriving the following morning back at Barcelona with an amazing sunrise to wake up to. Our days at sea were spent relaxing on the pool deck – deck 15/16. Three pools (1 adult only), pool towels, cinema screen, live music, 6 jacuzzi, waterslides, sports complex, running track, climbing wall, snack bar, 2 drink bars, loungers and seating areas and waiter service drinks at your lounger. You can also go inside to dine, drink, shop, casino, spa, gym etc during the day – what more could you ask for… Our evenings were spent relaxing too with a nice meal and a few drinks, a little shopping and some live entertainment. We ate in Cagney’s Steakhouse (steak restaurant), Teppanyaki (Japanese) , Taste (international cuisine table service), O’ Sheehan’s Bar & Grill (pub classics), Garden Café (buffet restaurant), Great Outdoors (outdoor buffet) which all served excellent food, great menus and excellent service and staff. We also visited the Ice Bar and the Spice H2O adults only outdoor beach club area where the pool transforms into a dancefloor which was open until late. We went to see two world class productions – ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ and ‘Burn The Floor’ both were amazing. We also visited the Cavern Club for live music and had a great time at ‘Howl at the Moon’ Rock n Roll Duelling Piano Bar which was a live musical singing / comedy which was excellent. You could also visit many other bars, the casino, gaming area, bowling, karaoke etc Everyone on board was again tested the day before arrival to Barcelona with your certificate by email ready for your return journey. Everyone on board also needed to be double vaccinated including all staff. All staff are also tested 3 times weekly. We felt very safe on board with the testing, socially distance dining tables, masks when indoors, sanitising stations everywhere which you were asked to do before entering restaurants, shops and elevators. We really had a great time and although it was a short break we managed to fit a lot in making the most of our time. This was our first time travelling internationally since the end of 2019 so it was long overdue and we certainly managed to relax, were very well looked after and felt very safe.

Kim was brilliant from start to finish. She organised our bespoke honeymoon that involved lots of travelling. She liaised with the team in India and the Maldives to ensure we were looked after through booking, visas, travelling, trip excursions and transitions to new places. We also had lovely honeymoon touches at each destination, which added to how special how experience was. Kim kept in touch with us intermittently throughout our travels to check in and welcomed us home too. She’s extremely professional and where we encountered problems, such as a flight being cancelled, Kim always contacted with a solution before we even knew the problem existed. Additionally, when we met to exchange paperwork, she brought us some lovely little gifts and even thought of our daughter by bringing her a lush little Teddy and sweets etc. We even received a card and a bottle from her on our wedding day. She’s just so thoughtful. What a lovely lady to know! We’ll be using Kim for all of our future bespoke adventures. Thank-you for making the dream from our bucket list come true!

Kim is super professional and quick despite our varied and probably more complex than required requests and indecisiveness. If it weren’t for Kim we’d still be talking about going away instead of having been. Recommendations and suggestions to help were spot on and she listens. Highly recommend.

First time booking with Kim. 30 minutes in and she had our perfect holiday sorted. Friendly, professional and got us exactly what we wanted for the budget we had. Thank you so much. Definitely would recommend booking through Kim. I know I will be in future.

Booking a holiday has never been something my husband and I have done well. We’ve always gone to a friend who works for a travel company to sort us out. Too much choice and we just get baffled and end up not booking. We decided, post covid, that we wanted a break away in the sun and wanted some guidance on where to take our 2 year old. Kim provided a few quotes based on our chat, she could have kept going I’m sure but she did the part that we’ve always hated… cut through the choices and narrowed it down to a choice of 3. Legend. Everything we’d asked for she considered, flight times, hotel requirements, travel times, etc… when sending the quotes through to the app she followed up with more information on each and then a call to get our thoughts. Kim made everything simple from start to finish. From the paperwork (the standard stuff), to explaining the process post covid, paperwork, covid passports etc, she was on point in telling us when and how. She was on hand when I had questions too meaning I could focus on getting everything else sorted for travelling with a toddler. The hotel was brilliant, the food choices, the room, the location, the heated pool was a definite win since the littleun wanted to be in there forever. It felt so good to get away and to have some sunshine!!! We can’t thank Kim enough for making everything so simple and straight forward and for hitting it so right with the hotel choice.

A massive thank you to Kim Mckie for finding such an amazing hotel and deal for our weekend of celebration. Couldn't fault any of it (apart from the weather). Can't wait to book our next trip with you.

Kim listened to everything I needed/wanted and took away the stress/uncertainty of my first time travelling since covid and my first holiday with my toddler. Where there is always so much choice available now that you could look and look and look some more and still not get a holiday booked, she gave me a few suitable options, answered a few questions I had and the holiday was booked within the week (probably just a few days to be fair). Definitely made life easier and will be a service I’d highly recommend and will be using myself again, probably in the not too distant future.

Great service, took all the stress of finding suitable accommodation and booking as I had, as usual, left it to late !

Couldn’t recommend Kim enough to book a holiday through. Due to everything that’s happened this year we’ve changed our holiday but unfortunately both have been cancelled. She keeps you up to date with everything that’s going on and managed to get us a refund. Thanks again Kim, we really do appreciate it.

I sent Kim a message this morning asking her to find us a luxury lodge with hot tub at short notice, she was quick to come back to me to ask a few details about my preferences then set to work. A short time later an email with various options. I was sat in the hairdressers at the time while Kim did all the work to book a fabulous lodge all thru a super efficient app which now has all the documents I’ll need in it, very impressed thanks Kim ??

I sent Kim a message asking her to find me a weekend hotel break. She found 3 options, all within my budget. She answered the questions I had and clarified anything I was unsure of. Her skills and knowledge are great. Within a few stress free hours my weekend was booked. I was so impressed, I contacted Kim to find a weekend break for my mam and brother. Again, Kim worked her magic and within a couple of hours they also have a booking. Kim listens to what you want/need and she finds it! Very professional! Thanks, Kim. X
