Wonderful Emirates Airline
The aircraft-type occasionally gets swapped, and on the evening of my visit, instead of it being the usual ‘2 class’ A380 it was the ‘3 class’ A380 and so we were extremely lucky to able to view the first-class suites, as well as business class and economy seating. Usually only the ‘2 class’ A380 operates in and out of Birmingham Airport.
For any plane geek (like me!) these A380 aircraft are an amazing fleet. There are 2 showers in the first-class area - and a bar upstairs in the business class area. It’s hard to get your head around the fact that these planes can carry over 600 people on-board!
I was extremely impressed with seats in all three of the classes, even the leg-room in economy is very comfortable. The suites in first class are lavish and spacious and can be made up as single or double occupancy. For those of you who don’t know, this aircraft is a double-decker and the notion of going up (or down) the flight of stairs whilst on-board is (again) quite hard to get your head around!
We topped off our A380 tour with a bite to eat in the Emirates Business Lounge which overlooks the runway and consists of a cosy-feeling lounge (seats over 100) where business class clients can while away their time before boarding their flight.
It was an extremely enjoyable evening learning (even more) facts about this wonderful aeroplane which is actually the world’s largest passenger aircraft and sampling the seating in the 3 classes on offer.
