Educational visit to Boston & Stowe

We flew into Boston airport on Virgin Atlantic in economy class and were smoothly transferred at our hotel the Taj in Boston overlooking the park. It is a five star hotel in a great location. In the rooms, as well as many facilities to make your stay as comfortable as possible, they have a pillow menu.

The next day we went on the Duck tour of Boston is a great way to see the city and get your bearings, not a big city but plenty to do and lots of shops.

We also visited the Fairmont hotel in Boston and the Boston Harbour both great hotels offering different styles to a city break experience. Boston is great place to start a tour of New England in the fall.

The drive to Stowe takes about 3 - 4 hours and is fairly straight forward. You know you are arriving somewhere special approaching Stowe, the roads narrow and the scenery changes. It is a beautiful place. We stayed at the Stowe Mountain Lodge. A beautiful hotel with ski in/ski out facilities at the right time of year. We visited the Von Trapp Resort, set in a quiet location with beautiful views over the valley. The town of Stowe is quaint and in season there is a regular bus service to get you up to the mountain. A bit of a whirl wind trip but very enjoyable and informative!
