Beyond Expectations

Celebrity Cruises latest Edge class ship did more than live up to my expectations, just like its name it went Beyond

My cabin was one of the new style infinite veranda/balcony which again allows you to have a larger room if required and still have a decent size balcony, the bed was wonderful and felt luxuriant and the multi plug charging unit was an unexpected surprise.

The first time I walked into Eden it took my breath away, it spans 3 decks with a bar, a restaurant and a living wall, it exudes calmness and gives a sense of wellbeing, then at night it comes to life with immersive entertainment happening amongst you, its utterly superb.

Usually, one of my favourite pre dinner spots is the Martini bar, well on Beyond they have gone bigger and its better, more bar area and more tiered seating makes this a must go to for a cocktail or an aperitif of your choice and try catch the nightly bar staff show at least once. Another top spot is the Sunset bar, a two-story sun trap which is as comfortable as it comes. I absolutely loved the sports bar which shows Premier League football matches as does the huge screen at the Rooftop Garden.

Main dinner can be taken in one of four different restaurants Cosmopolitan, Cyprus, Normandie or Tuscan, However Beyond features 32 Food & Beverage venues including 8 speciality restaurants and 2 exclusive for that special occasion, you are literally spoilt for choice.

The theatre is state of the art with 3 huge screens that enhance any show that is being put on, one show featured the backing of the London Philharmonic Orchestra who had recorded the score to match the production, after the show I went to an after show show in ‘The Club’ where once again you are an audience that feels part of the show, it really is an upgrade to anything I have experienced on a ship before.

When we docked in Naples and lots of people went ashore to visit various places such as Sorrento but having been to these places before I stayed aboard to wander around peacefully in fact at one point, I was the only person around the never been seen before 25m pool

I was only on the ship for 4 nights but could definitely spend a couple of weeks trying everything the ship has to offer which is Beyond Belief (sorry)
