Life's Too Short - Write Your Bucket List

Mark Hallam on 21 December 2017
Life is just too short

We do not know when our time is up so it’s very important to try and achieve your life goals. Call them what you want, be it be ‘A Bucket List’ or ‘Wish List’ - just set it and do it. I am sharing mine to hopefully inspire others to ‘Live their Dreams’! Some I have already achieved and some I may never get to do but I am going to die trying…

• Spot the Big 5 on Safari – this one I have done but would do it again in a breath - lions, rhino, buffalo, elephants, leopard and as a bonus hippo, warthog, giraffe, zebra

• The Galapagos – Having seen so many documentaries on these fascinating islands, it’s on my list

• A Trip on the Rocky Mountaineer – I will get to do this and its booked for May 2018 and a journal all about it will be posted on this website

• Iceland and the Northern Lights – Such a different country and ever so popular, need to go at the right time of year to maximise your chance of seeing the phenomenon Aurora Borealis

• Visit China and everything this vast country has to offer – Great Wall, Pandas, Terracotta Warriors, Yangtze River cruise, Shanghai, Beijing and many more

• Maldives over water villa to totally chill out and relax after a hard day snorkelling

• India’s Golden Triangle – Delhi, Agra and Jaipur to see the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort and hopefully Tigers

• Rio de Janeiro for the carnival combined with a trip to Iguazu Falls needs no explanation

• Cherry Blossom time in Japan, visit Tokyo and Osaka, ride on their bullet train and see many of the UNESCO sites

• And to cap it all – a world cruise visiting every continent (this one might have to wait until retirement though)

Above are my top ten but believe me when I say I have many more here are a few • Ride in a Hot Air Balloon – Booked for next year • Centre Court Tickets for men’s final at Wimbledon • As many Grand Prix events as possible – Done 2 so far Silverstone and Monaco • 14-night River Cruise down the Danube • Witness the annual Migration in Tanzania • Cuba • Visit every state in the USA (22 so far)

Ticked off so far • New York • Vietnam • Norwegian Fjords Cruise • Narrow boating in the UK • Behind the bar at the Rovers Return • Beaches of Bermuda • Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam • Niagara Falls • Flown Business Class • Had dinner at Captains Table on a Cruise • Been up the Burj Khalifa – tallest building in the world (and CN Tower Toronto) • Surfed at Surfers Paradise in Queensland Australia • Snorkelled with turtles in Barbados • Rome – Coliseum, Vatican City, Sistine Chapel etc • Singapore Sling at Raffles in Singapore • A West End show once a year (ongoing)

Doing what I do for a living, I organise all of the above for clients and when someone asks for something different it usually gets added to my list. Thanks for reading and hopefully it will help you define your lists!
