Disneyland Paris

The last time I visited Disneyland Paris was in 1992 when it first opened so I thought it was worth re-visiting as they has been so many changes over the years. I always like to be able to offer the very best information and advice to my clients which is why I try and travel as much as I can to keep my knowledge current.

There are a few options of how to get to Disneyland Paris. There’s the Eurostar, the ferry and you can drive or fly. We decided to fly from Manchester to Paris. Getting from the airport to Disneyland Paris is easy. There’s a Disney coach transfer service that operates regularly from the airport, private transfers can be arranged or you can take the train. We took to Disney transfer which took around 40 minutes door to door. There are lots of places to say in and around Disneyland Paris. There are seven Disney hotels plus a range of other partner hotels close by.

The Disney hotels all have their own distinct look and feel and cater for a range of budgets. Santa Fe and Cheyenne are great 2 star hotels. Santa Fe is themed around the ‘Cars’ movie and Cheyenne looks like an old Wild West town. Both offer regular complimentary transport to the parks. Davy Crocket Ranch offers cabin accommodation sleeping up to 6 in a cabin so is good for larger groups but is better suited to those who drive as there’s no transport to the parks from here. There’s a swimming pool with slide and a range of nature walks here.

Sequoia Lodge offers 3 star accommodation in a mountain lodge setting. It has a swimming pool and is a 15 minute stroll to the parks or has complimentary transportation.

We stayed at Newport Bay Resort which is a 4 star hotel. It has an indoor and outdoor pool and 2 great restaurants as well as bar. Our room was lovely. It looked newly refurbished and had a nautical feel to it with two large beds, a balcony and plenty of space. There are a range of room options including Club rooms that give VIP FASTPASS access. We ate in both restaurants and the food was great in both. The parks were 15 minute stroll around the lovely lake and there was also the option to take the free shuttle bus.

Hotel New York is a 4 star Big Apple themed hotel right next to Disney Village and a 10 minute walk to the parks. It has a lovely pool area, restaurants and a great bar. Suites and Club rooms are available with additional FATSPASS benefits.

Disneyland hotel is a 5 star hotel located directly opposite the entrance to parks. It has a pool, fitness centre and spa as well as supervised Minnie Club play area.

Disney Village has a range of shops, bars and restaurants, a cinema and this is where Mickey’s Wild West show takes place.

Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy train station is located in this area too where you can catch the train into Paris. We did this one day and it took less than an hour to get to the Eiffel Tower.

There are two Disney parks – Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studio Park. The Disneyland Park is the original park with Cinderalla’s Castle and a host of rides to cater for all ages.

Walt Disney Studio Park is the newest edition and has the scary Tower of Terror and a fabulous Toy Story area with themed rides and there are lots of opportunities to get photos with a host of Disney characters. We stayed for three nights which was long enough to get around both parks and also sample some of the great restaurants on offer. I loved the food at Walt’s on Main Street and the character dining at Café Mickey is also a great place to hang out with some of the Disney Characters.

I now feel like a Disneyland Paris expert so if you’re thinking of visiting anytime I would love to help so please get in touch.
