Menorca

We often like to take what we call a "cheeky little week" in September. It is often quieter and the weather is still good in most places. In 2015 we decided on Menorca. We had not been for a few years and it is a great place to go to with children too as it is not too far to travel, not too commercial and has lovely safe beaches.

It was just the two of us this time and we wanted to re-charge our batteries so opted for a villa with pool in Son Bou. A walk to restaurants, bars and cafes and a bit further to a nice beach - it had all we needed.

Days were spent relaxing by the pool reading a book, or exploring and re-acquainting ourselves with Menorca.

There is one road from Ciutadella to Mahon (the capital) with roads off so it’s hard to get lost. Ciutdadella is a lovely old town with cobbled alleyways and pretty harbour. In Mahon we had a bite to eat and watched the world go by before taking a boat trip around the harbour.

A lovely little island.
