It’s nice to meet you, I’m Neil, founder of Maslen Tailormade Travel and an independent Travel Counsellor based in Carlton, Leeds, where I live with my wife and our three children.

Maslen Tailormade Travel was created from a genuine passion for travel and a belief that holidays should be personal, expertly planned and completely tailored to the individual. My role as a personal travel consultant is to remove the stress from planning while creating unforgettable travel experiences.

Over the last eight years, Maslen Tailormade Travel has grown thanks to the continued support of my clients. Repeat bookings, referrals and word-of-mouth recommendations have allowed the business to grow naturally, and I’m incredibly grateful for that trust. Because of this growth, I’m delighted to welcome Abbie to the business. Her joining allows us to offer even more flexibility and support, while maintaining the personal service our clients value. Abbie brings fresh energy, new ideas and a modern outlook that complements my own experience, enabling us to support a wider range of travellers looking for bespoke, tailor-made holidays.

I’ve worked in the travel industry for over 20 years, specialising in long-haul travel, tailor-made itineraries and family holidays. I focus on creating personalised trips rather than off-the-shelf packages, taking time to understand how my clients want to travel. As a parent of three, I understand the realities of travelling as a family, particularly for larger families, and I use that first-hand experience to plan holidays that are practical, enjoyable and well balanced.

The last few years have shown just how important it is to have a trusted Travel Counsellor looking after your holiday. During a challenging period for global travel, I supported clients with re bookings, refunds and safe returns home. Having an experienced travel professional on your side offers reassurance and clarity when plans change, and that level of support remains a key part of my service.

My passion for travel began early, inspired by family trips to destinations such as New York, Rome, Paris and Australia. Those experiences sparked a lifelong curiosity for discovering new places and cultures. I’ve now travelled to over 49 countries and continue to explore whenever possible. First-hand experience plays a vital role in how I work, particularly when planning complex or multi-centre itineraries. The USA is one of my key specialist destinations. I’ve visited over 20 times and explored 20 different states, with Florida and Walt Disney World being firm family favourites. I’ve also experienced road trips, major cities and national parks, including recent family trips to Yellowstone National Park and California.

Abbie shares the same passion for travel and exceptional service. She has already visited 22 countries and counting, with experience across Europe, Asia and long-haul destinations. Travel remains central to everything we do, and we continue to travel regularly to ensure our advice is always current and experience-led.
