Holland America Trip - Koningdam Amsterdam 2-3 September 2017
Our hosts looked after us very well, treating us to a sightseeing tour as well as an evening dinner cruise also the many canals that Amsterdam is famous for. The ship arrived early in the morning next door to our hotel.
A very impressive sight, Ms Koningsdam entered service in May 2016 she is the first in the new 'Pinnacle Class' Koningsdam is just under 100,000 tonnes but more importantly carries only 2600 passengers, she could easily take many more. This means she is a very spacious ship.
The decor inside is lovely, beautifully done, very subtle colours, subdued decoration. There is a musical theme through, this runs through the ship from pieces of art to the names of the decks.
A wide range of dining choices from informal buffet areas, traditional dining as well as speciality restaurants. So much to do onboard including a cookery school, a wine blending class, focus on the destinations visited,. digital workshops, a tie up with BBC Earth and so much more.
Usual range of cabins from luxurious suites to standing inside, outside and balcony cabins plus a good selection of adapted cabins.
Range of entertainment options including classes to learn something new, films and stage shows. Not forgetting The Greenhouse Spa & Salon for all those lovely pampering treats.
Outside space is well appointed, with lots to do and see, sports courts, quiet areas with private cabanas or watch the large sea screen whilst relaxing - the pool has a roof! for cooler weather.
