Regent Seven Seas Explorer - ship visit Southampton.

Caroline Howden on 25 July 2017
I was lucky enough to be invited along with a group of fellow Travel Counsellors to spend some time onboard Regent Seven Seas newest and most luxurious ship Regent Seven Seas Explorer.

We had a glorious sunny day in Southampton, the best way to see a ship.

Explorer is a 56,000 tonnes but only carries 750 passengers all in balcony suites, this means plenty of space to enjoy this beautiful ship both inside and out.

I have attached a small selection of photographs which show a few of the public areas, the deck space and the cabin is the very best the ship has the Regent Suite, simply a stunning cabin, I have not seen spa type treatment beds in the cabin next to the bathroom, along with special art work and glass ornaments and a private bar and of course a Steinway grand piano.

The cabin is located at the front of the ship high up on deck 14 and spans the width of the ship.

Regent Seven Seas are all inclusive meaning all your drinks, meals, gratuities and as many excursions as you want to do are all included.

A range of dining areas onboard depending on your taste - Pacific Rim for Eastern inspired food, Prime 7 - steak and seafood, Chartreuse French inspired, the more informal The Verandah and the famous main restaurant The Compass Rose.

The ship has numerous areas where you can take a drink, read a book, catch up with friends, listen to music watch a show.

As well as all of the above you can enjoy beautiful pool area including an infinity pool overlooking the back of the ship, a super spa plus a gym so something for everyone.

Regent Explorer will be in Europe until late 2017 before relocating to the warmer Caribbean, she will come back to Europe in April 2018.

There are 3 other lovely ships in the fleet, Voyager and Mariner both 700 passengers in all balcony suites and the smaller Navigator for 490 passengers - 90% of the cabins with balconies.

They also told us yesterday that a sister ship to Explorer will join the fleet in 2020.

If you are looking for a special cruise experience then this could be the one for you.
