It’s a true joy to introduce my travel business, where I specialise in turning your holiday dreams into unforgettable realities. With over 31 years of experience in the travel industry and celebrating 19 wonderful years of running my own business as of July 2025, my passion for creating bespoke, luxury holidays continues to grow stronger every day.

My love for travel began early, sparked by family adventures exploring Europe after moving to Germany as a child. Those moments of discovery ignited a deep passion that has carried me through my entire career. I started in the early '90s with Thomas Cook as a young trainee, soaking up every bit of knowledge I could about the travel industry. From there, I found my calling in the world of luxury faraway tours, curating one-of-a-kind experiences for travellers seeking more than just a holiday.

As a 24-hour UK Duty Manager at Thomas Cook, I supported guests at every step of their journey—offering care and assistance in times of need, ensuring they were never alone if things didn’t go as planned. That foundation of compassionate service is something I carry with me into my business today.

Since launching Clare Lockett - Travel Counsellors 18 years ago, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible clients, helping them discover the world’s most beautiful destinations. Once we had made the exciting decision to visit family in Australia, Clare was the first point of contact to help with arrangements and offer advice. We had the dates booked off work but were open to ideas and recommendations from Clare on flight times, places to stop over and hotels when we were there. Clare knew exactly what hotel would suit our girls (age 13 and 10) for a stopover in Dubai, and when we reached Sydney, We were all grateful for the recommendation of a spacious two bed hotel room and chance to sleep off the jet lag. We had an amazing 3 weeks in Australia and little touches like welcome notes from Clare at each hotel stop were well received and Clare was on hand to sort out a minor query on flights while we were away. I’m not sure we would get that level of support elsewhere. It’s an exciting time booking a holiday, but it can leave you with endless questions and doubts when going so far and spending so much money! Clare helped take the worry away, I trusted her advice, and we all had a holiday of a lifetime. I would highly recommend Clare for help with any travel needs

Clare provides a great service and listens carefully to holiday requirements. Once I registered my interest in an October holiday she did lots of research and came back to me with several options to show a range of holidays and prices. Once we made our choice she confirmed everything with flights and hotels and sent the paperwork through. Clare spent a lot of time getting our honeymoon exactly right and I have 100 percent trust in her that our holiday will be amazing! I'm very fussy and a real detail person so I kept going back saying I wasn't happy with this hotel and that hotel for all sorts of reasons, but she had loads of patience and even reassured me that it was important to get it right and I was not to worry about the amount of time she was spending on it. She succeeded where others didn't. We had already booked our flights to Nairobi as my fiance has a British Airways gold card and wanted to upgrade us using his points. I needed the bit 'in the middle' sorting out - a safari and beach holiday. A friend who works at Thomas Cook couldn't help at all and Kuoni took all the details and never even rang me back! I had decided to get three quotes but it was obviously a challenge for a travel agent - one which Clare rose to admirably!

I contacted Clare on a recommendation from someone that had received travel arrangements by Clare and that person could not speak highly enough of her, so I thought I would give Clare a chance to plan my travel arrangements for me and all I can say is that within an hour of contacting her my holiday was completed and all I did was make a phone call. For a few years now Clare has taken all the stress and strain off us booking our flights and stopovers to New Zealand to visit family. Clare has been extremely helpful and at times patient with us in booking our trips. She really impressed us when the firm we booked our Candaian skiing trip got into financial difficulties Clare was first to know they were in trouble and immediately rebooked the trip through an alternative firm, negotiating the same price and even liased direct with the hotel to confirm the room we had requested. Did this all proactively and advised us after the event that it was all taken care of. The knowledge she brings to both the choice of holiday and extras linked to each trip means we can relax and know everything is taken care of and that we won't be disappointed when we arrive.

We decided to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary with a special touring holiday in South Africa. This involved various internal flights, private collection to & from airports. Rental cars and a very special choice of hotels around Cape Town and the Garden Route. In every aspect the arrangements were absolutely perfect and the choice of hotels was beyond our expectations in every way. Fabulous job

I have found Clare Lockett to be really professional and informative. Clare, always ensures that she thoroughly researches the market to ensure that the right holiday at the best price is found for me.
