Dear Jan, We returned finally from Istanbul on 23rd April, but life has been rather hectic since then! However,this is a short email just to thank you for the help that you gave us whilst we were trying to get back from Turkey after the Volcanic ash disruptions and especially getting our rail tickets from London Euston sorted out. So what do you do when the day before you fly home from New York you find out that all flights to the U.K. are cancelled due to a volcano? Well firstly you don't believe it! But it soon sinks in when: you can't ring Jan as it is the middle of the night in England, you can't get through to the airline on a public phone, the websites tell you nothing and you are due to check out of your room in 14 hours time ready to go- nowhere. Given the timing we emailed Jan for help with our room number from an internet cafe. We received a call first thing in the morning our time saying she'd been on hold for forty minutes but had got us a flight and discussed accommodation with us. Now not even Jan could work miracles and get us home straight away but her actions, where we had failed, meant that whilst others were making fruitless trips to the airport we didn't have to. Instead we were able to accept that we were there and make the most of it without the stress and pressure that others had.Well, we certainly got to see New York! Jan kept us updated by e-mail, continued trying to get us home earlier and advised us on medical insurance. We finally got home on the 26th instead of the 17th April but without Jan's actions we could easily have been there a further week as many other Brits found. Thanks Jan for your help. We have just returned from a magnificent holiday organised for us by Jan. At no stage during the preliminary discussions did we have any doubts that we would be receiving the best possible advice regarding our interests. We left for Australasia with great anticipation and we were not disappointed and not once over the 42 days did we feel anything but special for we stayed in the best hotels to suit our budget and the transfers were of the highest standard. The rooms allocated were ideal in every aspect and placed in situations that enabled us to maximise all that was on offer in the area. The flights and seat allocation were first class and we felt that we were provided with a holiday that had been meticulously crafted to suit our varying needs. We received a first class service from Jan, and Travel Counsellors are to be congratulated. This was a holiday of a lifetime in all aspects and excellent value for money and we will not only use them again but will encourage all our friends to consider using their services. On a personal note we will forever be grateful to Jan for her assistance during the early part of our tour when she took a large part of her day rearranging air flights and tackling insurers but more importantly providing us with tremendous support. With this level of attention I'm half expecting you to be at the airport to carry our bags, act as cabin crew and fly the plane!!!
