Two centre holiday Miami Beach and Punta Cana 2023 part 1

I was looking at a winter sun destination for me and my wife Becky, that we could go in December that was also reasonably priced. I found that prices of flights to the Caribbean were very high on direct flight but I found a way to beat the system, by doing a two centre holiday via America. I found some reasonable flights with American Airlines staying in Miami for 3 nights then flying onto Punta Canta for 4 nights. I stayed with my wife at Henrosa hotel on Miami beach on a bed and breakfast basis. From the airport there is a direct bus to the hotel costing $2.25 per person each way. Journey time is just under 45 minutes depending on traffic. Once we arrived at the hotel we had to pay a resort fee of $28.00 per room per day, which included free WIFI, a reserved spot at the beach plus other amenities. The hotel is art deco since the 1930’s, it has a nice lobby area where you can get cold water plus tea and coffee. There are 40 rooms at this hotel, we stayed in room number 306, a spacious double room with a bathroom plus TV, Safe and a small fridge. The windows don’t open, due to it being a listed building. The hotel is in a good location for the beach, shops, restaurants and bars. During our stay we went to Lincoln Boulevard mall and also spent time on the beach seeing the sunset plus cruise ships sailing by. Breakfast was disappointing as you can only order one breakfast item from the menu, otherwise additional cost to be charged and there were no juices in the free breakfast menu order. However, breakfasts were served at another hotel around 5-10 minutes walk away. It was served at a nice restaurant, with views of the beach if you wanted breakfast at the front. We saw plenty of roller skaters in the morning during breakfast time. Whilst staying at Miami Beach we did hire a car for the day, so that we can do some shopping in the mall plus visit Walmart for grocery shopping. We managed to get some bargains in the shopping mall which was good. We tried some lovely Cuban food plus Rosetta bakery restaurant for diner. Hotel is suitable for young couples and party goers as located on Collins Avenue. We would like to try another area of Miami if we visited again as resort fee put us off
