With over 30 years in the travel business I am very well known in the Cheshire area. I am very proud to share that I will be celebrating my 21st year with Travel Counsellors this year.

I am well-travelled myself believing it’s important to see the resorts and destinations I offer at first hand. I have travelled to Australia, Mauritius, Seychelles, the Bahamas, South Africa, Dubai, the Caribbean, America including Hawaii and California, the Far East including Thailand.

I absolutely live and breathe travel and I love to write about my

We flew with British Airways and we took the Manchester- Heathrow domestic flight and then continued from Heathrow to Barbados. Connections and our luggage transfer was perfect. The transfer time was sufficient to relax and grab some breakfast, but we also did feel like the travelling was being prolonged and we were waiting around unnecessarily. Our cases were also transferred onto our Barbados flight which made everything calmer and easier for us. We travelled in economy on both flights, and they were both a pleasant experience. The seats were comfy and had plenty of leg room and width. We were provided with pillows, blankets, headphones and a great selection of movies, series podcasts and music. The food and service was great. I would recommend checking in the day before especially if you haven’t pre booked seats. We received hot and cold drinks and had the option of chicken, vegetables and rice or tomato pasta. Each main course also included a starter, cheese with crackers, water, bread and a dessert.
We were greeted upon arrival by Chad from St James transfers which also gave us the fast track service. This made security checks quick and easy, and we weren’t waiting in the queue on arrival for immigration. We had a little wait for our bags to come on the carousel but nothing no more than 30 mins.
We were then taken to our taxi which dropped us at our first destination which was the Waves hotel. We were greeted with an optional rum cocktail and a cold flannel, and we were informed of our gifted 2 spa vouchers each as we were staying with the hotel for 5 nights and free yoga. The spa was really excellent and everyone was really friendly and knowledgeable. The beach whilst small is gorgeous and quiet so plenty of beds. Both the main restaurant and the café look out onto the beach which is nice in the morning or as the sun Is setting. On the beach you also have the option of water sports to take part in which are included within your stay and have no extra costs. The food was really nice overall there was a choice during our stay of either a themed buffet or A La Carte options as well as the café at lunch. As part of the Elegant resorts you can dine at the other hotels which are included in your all inclusive plan.. Waves also has it own Asian restaurant which is open some nights which is excellent but book in advance as its really popular.
We spend one day out on a Catamaran trip with Cool Runnings which was so much fun. You have 2 snorkelling experiences as well as time to go and swim at lunch.
The food and unlimited drinks were really great quality and the staff were brilliant. They were really chatty and taught us a lot about the island. Would highly recommend!!
After our 5 night stay at Waves, we then moved to The Tamarind which is further up the west coast (approx. 10-15 minutes in a taxi). Tamarind sits in between 2 sister hotels. Treasure Beach and the House. One huge benefit to staying at Tamarind is you can make a reservation for the Positano restaurant situated at the House. This is a fantastic options for Italian cuisine. It doesn’t open every night so booking early is recommended, gorgeous food and great long island ice teas!!

Donna went above and beyond when we were booking our honeymoon with her. Donna was incredibly patient whilst we were changing our minds about where we were going and the dates in which we could travel. Nothing was too much effort for Donna and the whole experience was very pleasurable and had made us both very excited for our trip. The overall package that Donna put together for us is everything that we wanted and would have taken us a lot of time and no doubt caused some stress if we had booked it ourselves! The price is fantastic and we can't thank Donna enough for all of her time, her experience really shone through as she pointed out and recommended things we never would have thought of! After searching endless tour operators and independently for our perfect honeymoon we were given Donna's details through a friend and she was by far the most helpful and friendly person I had spoken to. When you find out the love of your life wants to get married abroad you can't help but be nervous about it. Where to go? When to go? Will it be everything we want it to be? Without the benefit of being able to and see the venue first we had to trust good advice and knowledgeable experience, I am pleased to say this is exactly what we received from Donna Waddington at Travel Counselllors. It was Italy we wanted to go to and we decided on a venue in Gardone Riviera. We got great advice from Donna choosing the venue and as not all guests could stay at the same hotel, recommendations and bookings were made for guests at other hotels, all within walking distance of the wedding venue. It was a great day and a superb holiday with friends and family. We made the decision to carry on after the wedding for our honeymoon in the same country which included train travel, transfers and three different hotels. The train journeys and transfers were scheduled accurately and the hotels were located perfectly for the places we wanted to go. I would certainly use Travel Counsellors again and recommend them to friends and family. Thanks Donna.

We have used Donna in the past to book holidays for us so when we got engaged Donna was our first thought for Honeymoon ideas, we were really unsure of what we wanted and where we wanted to go so we gave Donna a very random and almost impossible brief of what we wanted, Donna reccomended Mauritus to us as a beautiful island in the indian ocean that offers the option of beachside luxury and also the options to get out and about and explore, the hotel was lovely and the location could not have been better, Donna always uses her skills in matching our holidays to our personalities and needs perfectly. The advise and knowledge Donna has on so many locations and hotels certainly makes the whole process of booking holidays stress free and exciting.

I have always made my own independant travel arrangements for me and my family. After a catastrophic illness last year, that wasnt possible. However, Donna was incredible. Every detail, every consideration (even the ones that hadnt even thought of,) were planned for with contingencies. Donna was both highly professional, responsive and courteous at all times. She gave my husband and I, total peace of mind. The whole family even got an upgrade going to America, via Virgin Atlantic and myself another upgrade on the return leg! Superb! THANK YOU!

As someone who normally books their own holidays I was sceptical about using a travel agent but as it was our honeymoon and we weren’t sure where to go I contacted Donna. She quickly got a good feeling for what we liked and came up with a fantastic holiday in California (and at a better price than I could find!). My wife and I decided to get married in Antigua this year. We took 23 people with us on what was to be an unbelievable Wedding! I'm not sure if I can tell you how fabulous Donna is in 400 words alone. Suffice it to say you will never regret trusting her with your holiday plans. She has recently arranged a fabulous wedding for us in Mauritius after having to put up with endless enquiries about all sorts of things from us. Donna is patient, kind, friendly and completely unflappable. We love her!!!
