Boston & New York continued
Saturday : An early start with Breakfast in the MO Lounge restaurant, a great way to catch the sunrise across Manhattan followed by the the opportunity for a site inspection of the hotel including the award-winning spa, the first and longest-running Forbes Five-Star spa in the East Coast. A hosted Lunch at Twin Tails is a new Thai & Vietnamese restaurant from Quality Branded, the team behind Bad Roman, Zou Zou’s, and other Manhattan staples. The menu includes fresh crudos, bright and herbaceous salads and small bites, and entrée favourites like Tiger Prawn Pad Thai, Shaking Beef, and the best-selling Cho Lon Duck. Then it was off to Broadway to catch “Death Becomes Her” Highly recommend and definitely a lifelong experience ticked
Heading back to the hotel for a Sound bath meditation class where a sound therapist skillfully plays a variety of instruments, from crystal bowls to gongs, each producing unique frequencies that resonate with different parts of your being. Lay back and surrender to the sounds, allowing the tensions to melt away creating a sense of calm.
A great day!!
Sunday :
After a leisurely breakfast at the MO lounge restaurant, a taxi to Grand Central & Summit One Vanderbilt. The 1,401ft skyscraper is the city's fourth-tallest building located just west of Grand Central Terminal. You'll first enter underground through a mirrored hallway, take an elevator up to the 91st floor, perched 1,000 feet over the streets and sidewalks of NYC. The third level introduces you to "Levitation," a series of transparent glass sky-boxes that jut out of the building at 1,063 feet above Madison Avenue. You can stand over the street with just glass between you and the ground. It's certainly not for the faint hearted. We then caught the Subway and made our way to Ground zero remembering the 2,983 people killed in the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001. The Memorial Plaza is a public space filled with swamp white oaks and features the Memorial Glade, a small clearing dedicated to the men and women of the rescue and recovery effort; two reflecting pools with waterfalls in the footprints of the Twin Towers; and The Survivor Tree, a Callery pear tree that was damaged but survived the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. A short walk to Battery Park passing the charging bull, (ironically a symbol of financial optimism and prosperity) to catch the view of Statue of Liberty. With limited time for Lunch we grab pizza from a vendor (which was incredible ) before hitting a little retail therapy in Manhattan & 5th avenue.
