New York

I have just returned from a fabulous trip to New York. I spent four nights with my closest friends and we had a wonderful time.

We stayed in the Oakwood 888 apartments on 6th avenue which were fantastic. We had the penthouse apartment on the top floor which had two bedrooms, two bathrooms with great views of the bustling streets below.

We visited the main sights of New York, including the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Top of the Rock and Ground Zero which was very touching. We took a Pedi cab around Central park which was fantastic as we got to see the things we never knew were there (thanks to our great tour guides).

We purchased tickets to see the show, Rock of Ages, which are good value at 50% off if you go to Times Square on the day of the show.

Before we travelled, we purchased a Super New York pass which entitled us to get on all of the bus tours and included entrance to the Museum of New York, a ticket to the Top of the Rock or the Empire State building, plus the ferry over to the Statue of Liberty. It was excellent value and saved us a lot of money, by purchasing in advance.

For eating out, we had breakfast at either Wendy’s or Pax which were good value and then treated ourselves in the evening to a nice restaurant. We visited Ellen’s Stardust Diner which was well worth a visit; a little pricey but good for the entertainment and atmosphere.

I can thoroughly recommend New York and all it has to offer. This was my third visit and I'm sure it won’t be my last. If you are thinking of visiting New York yourself, please get in touch. I can get some excellent rates and you are always assured of my very best attention and service.
