Gold Trip to Sardinia
An early start marked the beginning of what would become a memorable trip to the Travel Counsellors Gold Conference, hosted this year at the stunning Conrad Hilton Sardinia. From the moment we arrived, the sweeping coastal views set the tone for an unforgettable few days.
Our first day offered the perfect blend of relaxation and excitement. After settling in, we headed straight for the beach to soak up the sunshine before gathering for a beautiful dinner by the pool that evening. With soft lighting, gentle music, and the prettiest of settings, it was the ideal introduction to our time in Sardinia. The following morning began with a delicious breakfast overlooking the water, followed by a conference session led by head office and key suppliers. A hotel show-round gave us a deeper look into the property’s impressive facilities before the tempo shifted again—this time to a pool party in the afternoon. Laughter, sunshine, and great company carried us straight into the evening, where we enjoyed a wonderful meal at La Terrazze Restaurant. We were lucky with the weather during the first half of the trip, as the rain made its appearance the next day. Despite a gloomy forecast, we stuck to our plan for a hosted morning bike ride—and the adventure certainly delivered. Thunder, lightning, and a serious soaking added drama to a route that already included three challenging hills, making it far more demanding than we’d imagined. But despite the wild conditions, it turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip: tough, exhilarating, and unforgettable. That evening brought a complete change of pace as we prepared for the Gala Dinner. After a fantastic meal and plenty of dancing, we ended the night with more than 6,000 steps already on the clock for the following day—always a sign of a great evening! Although this was only a brief visit to the very south of Sardinia, the island left its mark. With its mix of natural beauty, warm hospitality, and unexpected adventure, I’m already looking forward to returning someday to explore even more.
