Navigator of the Seas

I have never been on a cruise before, and like most people I had pre-conceived ideas of what a cruise was like – Too formal /stuffy/average age 60+/ not family friendly etc. I couldn't be more mistaken, all these popular misconceptions are now gone and my first taste of cruising was simply wonderful.

I feel the experience of just 4 nights on board has given me an insight into cruising that simply reading about it would not allow. I am now able to pass on the knowledge I gained by using my senses - touching, tasting, seeing, hearing and smelling.

The whole experience far exceeded my expectations and have since talked about it to nearly everyone I have come into contact with since the trip. I have and will recommend this to any age group or any size group, honeymoon couple and families alike, all of which I saw represented on board. I found cruising to be fantastic value for money. Taking into account all the things that are inclusive, plus the full range of activities that I was able to partake in was incredible. I found it so much more enjoyable than a normal package holiday on land. There was a vast difference with the continual changing scenery and of course waking up in a different country every day.

The weather was not kind on the whole so when it did rain and the swimming pool and sunbathing areas were deserted it made me wonder where over 3,000 people had disappeared to – I literally walked along every deck from top to bottom familiarising myself with all the available activities for all age groups and I have to say no one place was overcrowded. People were spread out all over the ship enjoying spa treatments or the gym/ the salon/ the games rooms for kids/ the numerous bars/ shopping on the promenade/ playing bingo / taking lessons or simply eating at the fantastic restaurants available.

I am soon going to be hosting an intro to cruise party/BBQ for all my family and friends at which I will propose that we all get booked up for 2009/10 as one group. My partner and children will absolutely love it. I can understand why so many people who have cruised do so again and again.
