Perfect Portugal - All Inclusive

The reviews we read about this resort prior to booking were a mixture of good and bad but having worked for a season in the area as a holiday rep about 10 years ago I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. I am so glad I did - what a wonderful week we had from beginning to end - it surpassed my expectations. We opted for a taxi transfer from the airport which started the trip off really well with an air-conditioned Mercedes to whisk us to the resort. Once checked in we were driven to our apartment block by golf buggy and the driver carried our cases up to the second floor for us, and with no expectation of a tip ran back down to assist the next people checking in. These little golf buggies were darting around the complex all day long and if like us (we were in the middle) you wanted to hop on if they were passing no problem. The complex is spread over quite a large area but walking was not a problem to either of the two main areas that have restaurants, bars and pools.

The main area where the evening entertainment takes place also has a larger pool and a bigger restaurant. The food was varied and of a high standard for buffet style and the drinks were all very good quality not the weak versions of locally produced spirits you sometimes get at some all inclusive hotels.

This hotel sits above a fantastic beach with free sunbeds to guests if they are prepared to negotiate the 94 steps to reach it. You can also walk the 3km into Vilamoura/Quarteira if the fancy takes you.

We found the resort to be very cosmopolitan with not just British and German guests but also French, Dutch, Scandinavian and Portuguese.

The hotel seemed to be catering to almost every type of holiday maker - Families with both young children and teenagers, groups, couples both young and mature.

The gardens were kept immaculate and the whole complex was very clean and tidy. Our rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels were always provided.

The complex is cleverly designed in respect of it's activities they are all set in areas that would not disturb anyone just looking for a relaxing holiday. So with football , tennis, volleyball, mini golf, table tennis, pool and an electronics games room there is plenty to do for the active or if gentle water aerobics in the pool or yoga classes in a shaded area are more your type of activity you will not be disappointed.

If professional evening entertainment is important to you then this is probably the weakspot for the hotel as they employ a fantastic team to keep you entertained during the daytime but in the evenings it is somewhat inclined to be just for children. This did not spoil anything for us because after dinner we would stroll down to the other area for a few drinks and chat to other guests.

We would recommend this holiday to any of our friends and family.
