West End Weekend

Everytime I made a booking for a London West End theatre break everyone kept feeding back how much of a fantastic time they had. So with my birthday coming up we decided to go see how our capital city was fairing as it has been some time since my last recreational visit.

We went and did all the touristy sightseeing - Trafalgar Square, Houses of Parliament etc which was great and because we landed really good with the weather we booked onto a river cruise from the London Eye to Tower Bridge. This little voyage was really informative and just the right length at 45 mins.

Another excellent little diversion is Covent Garden with all the shops & stalls and street performers - it is such an enchanting place to spend a couple of hours.

I have to say though the highlight of the trip was the actual show itself. Never forget - a comedy musical based upon a Take That tribute band. The cast performed like it was opening night, it seemed so fresh. All the main singers would pass auditions on X-Factor and probably make the final cut. The stagecraft was superb with stunning visual effects.

As far as short breaks go London has it all, from magnificent buildings to the very best shops, bars and restaurants and lastly lets NEVER FORGET the West End.

If it's just a short break or a celebration I can highly recommend London to all.
