Travel Counsellors named the UK's Best Travel Retailer for the second year running
We are over the moon to announce that for the second year running, we’ve been named the UK’s Best Travel Retailer at the British Travel Awards.
This recognises Travel Counsellors as the best overall travel company in the UK and is especially meaningful to us as it is voted for by our customers.

Why culture matters more when you're running your own business
One of the less obvious aspects of what makes Travel Counsellors different is the relationship between being your own boss and still feeling part of something larger. TCs are independent business owners — they set their own hours, choose their own clients, and keep a significant share of what they earn. But they're also part of a network of more than 2,000 people, with a support team in Manchester, and a community that meets face to face at regional events and the annual conference.
Nat Adams, who joined TC after 12 years in corporate hospitality, described it this way: "I wanted freedom, but I didn't want to feel alone. That's exactly what TC gives you. The structure is there when you need it. When you don't need it, you don't notice it."
A Year of Resilience, Recognition and Success
The BTA Award win is the cherry on top of a successful year for Travel Counsellors, despite the challenges posed by coronavirus.
We won our second Queen’s Award for International Trade, the third Queen's Award in our trophy cabinet.
MoneySavingExpert named Travel Counsellors the ‘Best Travel Company for Refunds’ three times, and we jumped to 48th place in The Sunday Times PwC Top Track 250 league table.
Travel Counsellors won the Lenny Award for ‘Best Learning Culture’, recognising our franchisees commitment to their own personal development throughout lockdown by embracing the training festivals that took place throughout 2020.
We’ve once again been shortlisted in the 2021 TTG Top 50 travel agencies in the ‘Top Homeworking’ and ‘Top Business Travel’ categories and will find out if we win in March 2021.
Our reasons to celebrate in 2020 are the result of 26 years of putting poeple at the heart of everything we do.
