Get to know Angela
Hi Ange. Tell us a little bit about yourself
I live in Worsley, Manchester, with my husband, Dave, and our two children, Harriet and Will. Family is incredibly important to me, and I enjoy walking, Pilates & spending time outdoors in every season, working on home improvements and travelling.
We love creating special family memories and discovering new destinations together each year.
How did you get into recruitment?
I started my career in the airline industry before moving into recruitment more than 20 years ago, initially joining a start-up travel recruitment business.
What brought you to Travel Counsellors?
I was drawn to the people and the ethos of the business. I also loved that I could continue my career while being a mum which has never changed.
What’s the best thing about your job?
It’s all about people. We speak to individuals from a wide range of backgrounds — from experienced travel professionals to those looking for a complete career change. I love helping people build successful businesses and seeing how Travel Counsellors can change their lives.
What’s been your highlight?
Attending the HolidaysPlease reward trip in June 2023 was a real highlight. It gave me the opportunity to get to know the agents and colleagues and better understand their business.
What can prospective Travel Counsellors expect from the process?
The process is relaxed, thorough and completely at your own pace. We’ll get to know you, understand your experience and circumstances, explain the most suitable training and answer your questions. We also encourage you to attend an event and speak to existing Travel Counsellors before making your decision.
How do you reassure people who are unsure about becoming a business owner?
We take the time to understand your concerns. Our events offer the chance to meet our support teams and hear directly from Travel Counsellors about their experiences.
What advice would you give someone considering setting up a travel business?
Do your research and consider what matters most to you, whether that’s technology, support or the commission split. Make sure you have the time and financial stability to build your business, and consider whether you have a strong network of potential customers.
