Since joining the industry in 2008, I’ve been lucky enough to experience many of the hotels, flights and tours my customers enjoy. Whether it’s palatial resorts, business class cabins and premium cruise lines, or motels, motorhomes and small group adventures, I use my own travel insights to make sure every trip fits you perfectly. And if I haven’t been there myself, chances are one of my 2,000 Travel Counsellor colleagues has. We love to share our knowledge.

MORE ABOUT ME I live in Edinburgh with my wife, two daughters, a cat, a dog and five pet rats. Travel has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, from backpacking across Europe and a working holiday in Australia to a year overlanding through Asia, plus plenty of family holidays since.
We’re lucky to visit family every year in some of the most stunning parts of Western USA, from the beaches of San Diego to the ski slopes of Colorado.
When I’m not planning trips, you’ll usually find me outdoors. I love hill walking, running, skiing and camping. I’m also a competitive runner with a soft spot for ultra marathons, because apparently 26 miles just isn't enough.

Abe has helped me over many years with short and long haul trips for my work and also family holidays.
I cannot recommend him highly enough.
On my most recent trip the first leg of my journey was delayed. He informed me that I would be rebooted onto a later flight. Arriving for the connection, I learned my original flight was itself delayed. Despite being early in the morning, Abe was able to respond to my questions and help me transfer the booking (and the baggage) back onto my original flight. He even knew the gate of the flights before they appeared on the airport screens! His quick response saved me another day of travel. 5 stars!

So we decided to go to Portugal , we were long overdue for a break. it made sense to combine the holiday to include a visit to friends living near Lagos and time to explore in and around Lisbon .
We told Abe our budget and time scale and he came up with flights, hotels and car hire at a great price. to fit the bill. As a couple neither of us enjoy the trauma of finding flights or hotel deals , so we called in the professional.
This is the third time we have used Abe and as always he did not disappoint it was simple and easy and everything from checking to car hire was as described. I love the email package you get; simple print it out and you have everything you need .

Excellent service from Abe. From our perspective, we had a fairly complex itinerary in terms of dates, timings and other constraints. Abe was able to put together a package which satisfied all the issues involved. Hotels where we needed them were of excellent quality, and transfers were smooth. On the one occasion that Qantas let us down Abe was able to step in and assist successfully..
All in all, a first class service and we will use Abe again and happily recommend him to others.

I have recently returned from a six week trip to New Zealand. I was lucky enough to have had Abe as my travel counselor. Not only did he fully explain the flight options, he also checked the visa requirements and passport that I would need. The extent of his services did not end once the flights had been booked, he was in regular contact with me to check all my plans were running smoothly, right up until a few days before my departure. I'm used to flying with my husband and family but this was my first solo flight. I therefore found Abe's help and support extremely helpful and comforting in the knowledge that he was their to assist me should any problems arise.

I am very happy to write a testimonial in regard to Abe's services for our recent trip to Southern Africa .
bearing in mind that due to covid , the flights where changed ,three times incurring Abe in a lot more work than normal and this he did all with in his stride and unflappable manner. .
initially he produced flights alternative airlines prices and times till we settled on our choice , something we would have got very bored and probably confused by .
correspondence by phone, email and the app where all first class, no ifs or buts .

In the past when organising long haul holidays we did it ourselves ,however, on this occasion on the recommendation of a friend we decided that we would use Abe. We are so glad we did he was very efficient and helpful during the booking process, Our first night was spent in Santa Monica where Abe organised a new (to us) hotel which was much better than our old favourite at a similar cost . He also found an excellent and extremely convenient way to pick up and drop off our hire car ( a valet service near our hotel no queue!). In addition he found us the perfect location in Santa Barbra a city unknown to us. Where I was really relieved to have booked through Abe though was on our flight to the USA we nearly missed our connection and I was really worried we would spend the night in Dublin and change all our plans. I must say I was delighted to have him on the other end of the phone reassuring me that he would be there to sort things out if I needed to reschedule anything. I would definitely recommend him!

The personalised service and attention to detail we had from Abe in planning our holiday in Kenya was second to none. From the early stages, when we hadn't even committed to the trip, through the entire process Abe was on hand to offer expert advice and answer our many queries. When one of our flights was badly delayed, resulting in a missed connection the stress was significantly reduced. One call to Abe (who already knew as he had been tracking the flight) and he sorted everything at our destination.

A week in Artiem Audax in beautiful Cala Galdana in Menorca is just a joy. The hotel offers great choice of rooms, two restaurants and two cafés, glorious spa, pool high above the bays& sports activities. It’s adults only.
This wee place has good public transport to Mahon, Ferreries & Ciutadella. There are excellent walks
And what’s the best thing - asking Abe Remmo to come up with a package to meet your own needs. He does this with speed and with options you might not have thought of. And he’s with you all the way with updates and up to date information.

This was our 3rd attempt due to covid at visiting Seattle/Hawaii/Washington. We had previously booked through our usual travel agent however this time Abe was able to give us a more competitive price. He provided a very personal service, especially in the beginning, asking many questions regarding the type of holiday we were looking for and giving ideas that we had not thought of. He then contacted us a few days prior to the journey to ensure we were confident about everything and had no concerns. We had to contact him via email for non-urgent information during our holiday, in which he was able to respond very quickly to resolve our query. We had a last minute decision to go to a wedding in Canada, We had to find travel arrangements quickly as we were to be witnesses. We contacted Abe. We got his details through close friends who have used him for many years, We gave him the dates etc about 9am on a Thursday and we had a package sent to us before 4pm. So fast - we were busy on a project so it was a life saver. We were able to discuss all options on the Monday and given advice re apps to use etc. The day before travel he was on hand to reassure us when VeriFly failed to link with BA check in. The service we get from Abe is always second to none. We give him an idea of what we want and he comes back with several suggestions, all of which are good - the only issue being that it’s then quite difficult to choose!!
This year we went to Gran Canaria and didn’t have a huge budget but Abe still managed to come up with a lovely hotel which suited our needs perfectly.
As we hired a car we didn’t need the Jet2 coach transfer but still kept getting calls from them about it. Abe got that sorted for us so we didn’t have to spend any of our precious holiday on the phone.

Abe with Travel Counsellors organised a family trip for us to Barbados in September to enable us to see our son and family who live in the States . Navigating travel rules has never been more challenging and from my first call with Abe he provided an outstanding service. From researching options for us and family in USA to reviewing information almost daily, and giving us complete confidence that this trip would work. We had several variations of how many were travelling , Abe would happily look into and get us information on costs and travel options. He paid a lot of attention to our requirements and provided several options re destination, number of days etc. He was always available to discuss various issues ( e.g Barbados instituted a curfew the week before we traveled) and seek reassurance at Barbados end as to implications etc. I even had cause to contact him when we arrived re an issue on Covid test results!
Overall Abe provided a highly personalised service and had a real passion to make sure our trip was the best it could be. I would highly recommend Abe and Travel counsellors for holiday and travel big or small. We will certainly be exploring our next holiday with him .

Abe listened to what I wanted from the holiday that I have booked. I asked for transfers from Airport to Hotel and other transfers as my husband gets anxious about these things. He has done all of that also when booking flights I said that again my husband gets anxious if there is a short transfer time said don't want to hang around for ever but not too quick. This was all looked at when choosing flights for us. We have done add on days before and after the cruise to get the most of travelling to these countries. Abe sourced out hotels, car transfers and booked what looks like a super Tango/dinner evening, with car pick to take us there. He spoke to Celebrity Cruises about certain things on board the ship to ensure that we do not have to think about either when on board or just before holiday. Helped choose the cabin for locality from the availability left. This will help our cruise experience more comfortable and less hassle. Abe has made the booking of this trip so hassle free for me, he is attentive and follows up on any questions. Lovely to work with someone so professional and experienced in the travel industry.

We wanted to take this time to thanks Abe for his expertise in booking our recent trip to California. We decided we had no specifics other than start in San Francisco and ending up in Los Angeles. We were able to be flexible on dates, so left it to Abe to make suggestions. Abe was thorough in asking questions about the sorts of things we would like to do and see and as a result came up with an itinerary that included Yosemite National Park which was not on our radar, but so glad he recommended it. Abe also suggested that if we move the date forward by 24 hours we could fly back business class for a very reasonable sum and and enjoy the benefits of a flat bed as well as the business lounge both in LA and Heathrow which we took advantage of. What is impressive is not just his knowledge of the travel industry, but his attention to detail and informing/reminding us of certain things, for example having updated ESTAs. I'd recommend Abe to anyone who is looking for someone to take away the hassle of booking a holiday, knowing he looks after them as if they were his best friend.

Abe was really helpful and after we explained our complicated journey he went away and found the best solution for us. We had tried to do the journey ourselves but we had come up with a cost £2,000 more expensive. His knowledge and expertise enabled us to save money, but to also maximise our holiday time. We made it clear what type of resorts we wanted to visit and what type we wanted to avoid and Abe came up with a tailor-made travel plan to suit all our needs. If I could score 20 I would ! Abe has yet again treated our travel arrangements with maximum efficiency resulting in a reassuring and hassle free solution to our enquiry. Our annual sojourn to Australia must seem very mundane compared to some of the exotic trips he arranges but he prioritises it in the same way.

Fantastic and very knowledgeable service from Abe on every trip he has helped us with. He was especially good at helping us to plan our California adventure and deciding on best route and which hotels to stay in. I had a trip to 3 separate States in India. Abe quickly laid out all the options for the long haul and internal flights. A few emails and one phone call later all was sorted. When the airline made changes he kept me up to date. The airlines were all of a high standard and the trip went as smoothly as I could have wished. I would use Abe again without hesitation and recommend his service wholeheartedly.
