Mamma Mia Vibes in Skopelos
In late July 2025, I set off on a journey to a place I’d been dreaming about for years, Skopelos, the lush, pine-covered Greek island made famous by Mamma Mia.
Our adventure began with a flight from London City Airport to Skiathos, followed by the most idyllic transfer I’ve ever experienced — a water taxi skimming across sparkling turquoise waters to our hotel, the beautiful Adrina Resort & Spa. With sea views from every corner and a private beach just steps away, it became the perfect base for ten sun-drenched days.
A Sea You’ll Never Forget
Each day began and ended with a swim in the clearest, most inviting water I’ve ever seen. Skopelos is blessed with countless bays and beaches, and the colours — a blend of emerald, aquamarine, and cobalt, change with the sunlight.
Following in the Footsteps of Mamma Mia
No trip here would be complete without visiting some of the iconic Mamma Mia filming locations. Standing on the cliffside chapel of Agios Ioannis, I could see exactly why it stole the show — the views are nothing short of cinematic.
An Epic Day at Sea
One of my favourite memories was a boat trip around the island. We swam in hidden coves, snorkelled in crystal-clear waters, and were lucky enough to spot a pod of dolphins dancing in our wake, an unforgettable moment.
A Taste of Skopelos
Evenings were all about discovering small, family-run tavernas serving traditional dishes. From freshly grilled fish to Skopelitiki (the island’s famous cheese pie), every meal was a celebration of local flavour. Add in a glass of chilled white wine and the warmest hospitality, and you have the recipe for a perfect Greek night.
